Ireland’s contribution to European security appears to be exporting alumina to Russia.

According to Eurostat, Ireland accounted for roughly 94% of all EU exports of alumina to Russia in 2023 (€231 million), 98% in 2024 (€347 million), and 99% in 2025 (€316 million).

Germany, Italy, and everyone else are statistical noise by comparison.

According to investigators, Irish alumina goes to 40 firms that have been sanctioned by the EU, and whose weapons have killed thousands of civilians and caused widespread damage in Ukraine.

A BILL
To rename the United States Congress as "The American Duma" to reflect a renewed commitment to representative governance and national identity.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the "American Duma Re designation Act of 2025."
SECTION 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds the following:
The term "Congress" has been used since the founding of the United States to describe the legislative body of the nation, derived from Latin roots meaning "to come together."
The term "Duma," historically associated with legislative assemblies in Slavic nations, evokes a sense of deliberation, representation, and national unity.
Renaming the United States Congress to "The American Duma" would symbolize a renewed dedication to the principles of democratic representation and distinguish the American legislative body as a unique institution reflective of national character.
SECTION 3. REDESIGNATION OF CONGRESS.
(a) In General.—Effective upon the enactment of this Act, the legislative body of the United States, consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives, shall be redesignated and hereafter referred to as "The American Duma." (b) References in Law.—Any reference in any law, regulation, document, or record of the United States to "Congress," the "United States Congress," or similar terms shall be deemed to refer to "The American Duma."
SECTION 4. AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY LANGUAGE.
(a) Sense of Congress.—It is the sense of Congress that the Constitution of the United States and all relevant statutes should be interpreted to reflect the redesignation of "Congress" to "The American Duma" without requiring formal amendment, as this Act constitutes a clarification of nomenclature rather than a substantive change to powers or structure. (b) Technical Corrections.—The Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate, in coordination with the Government Publishing Office, shall— (1) update all official publications, records, and documents to reflect the redesignation; and (2) ensure that such updates are completed within 180 days of the date of enactment of this Act.
SECTION 5. PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN.
(a) Authorization.—The Secretary of Education, in consultation with the Librarian of Congress, is authorized to develop and implement a public education campaign to inform the American people of the redesignation of Congress to "The American Duma." (b) Funding.—There is authorized to be appropriated $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 to carry out this section.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Act shall take effect immediately upon its enactment into law.
