@penguinpress I know it's just... different times... but Hamilton telling his wife to give him a boy just makes me uncomfortable. 😬 Loved the bit about Peggy being a badass.
@penguinpress I was struck by the fact that Hamilton read so much about the founding of other societies and noted the connection to his own time! I think he had a great deal of foundation for his decisions, although they did seem intuitive and perhaps done on impulse.
@penguinpress Sounds like he was mainly interested in rising above his station, and at that time a war was a quick way to prove your worth? So his literary interest helped him in this, but I think that was mainly a hobby and a means to an end. The military success seemed to follow naturally.
If you haven’t read this yet prepare for it to be shared with you about 8 million times because everything she says is EXACTLY THIS https://t.co/3JkrGpViX5
@penguinpress I can't believe she left her husband & the island - sounds like such a bold move in those days! Also was surprised to hear that Hamilton has a brother. Wonder if he will resurface later.
It's the summer of Hamilton! On Tuesday, July 7th, Penguin Press will launch #HamiltonTogether: a two-month read along of Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow with daily discussions happening right here on the Penguin Press Twitter. We hope to see you there!
Thank you @copyeditors for today's webcast on people-centered (instead of label-centered) style guides. @aubsn had an informative & illuminating presentation and some epic @schittscreek gifs. It's about the wine, not the label, right? 💯

I’m here on Flavortown Island checkin’ out a joint run by local legend, Tom Nook! Unlike the homes around here, you won’t have to take out a loan to afford these dishes 😅
