maybe what we call intelligence is just insatiable curiosity, and instead of trying to turn kids into better test-takers we should be giving them fascination and critical thinking and a sense of wonder.
with time, you realize some friendships are meant to be surface level. everybody doesn’t need to be so deeply invested in your personal life and that’s okay.

i love the saying, "trust when people show you who they are the first time." bc it sounds so simple but it can save so much time, heartbreak & healing. don't make excuses, don't try to see past shit, try to understand them, etc. one people show you who they are, believe them!
you absolutely do not have to be ‘fully healed’ to be worthy of healthy relationships or friendships. there is no such thing as ‘fully healed’, anyway. as long as you are self-aware, inviting in calm and mature connections can be a relationally healing experience in itself.
how do i convey this properly… if you communicated to them in detail about how their actions hurt you & they apologize profusely but go right back to doing the behavior that originally upset you, that’s a choice. you shouldn’t have to explain yourself again about the same thing.
