A lot of progress since last update, too many to list here. Maps are handled better overall, events work, there's a transition between maps etc. So much had to be done in order to get all this to work haha... #pcengine#turbografx#indiedev#retrogaming#gamedev#Homebrew

@bobfrasure The map is loaded on the fly as you move around. I've been doing some research on how Dragon Warrior 4 on the NES did it and I think it's a good approach. I'm still not sure how much it's going to save in my case, because it's heavily dependent on the world map design itself.
A bit more progress on my first person dungeon crawler. I did some work on combat, the town UI, and some internal things. There's still a lot to go, but I'm happy with the progress I made the past few days :) #indiegame#gamedev#RPG#IndieGameDev#DungeonCrawler#indiedev#DRPG
I decided to do something else while I'm not working on my PC engine game. I've always wanted to make a retro-looking first person dungeon crawler, so I decided to mess around with it and see where it goes :) #indiegame#gamedev#RPG#IndieGameDev#DungeonCrawler#indiedev#DRPG

@Fabio_16bits@turboxray Yeah, and it's a shame. It's an amazing system. But I think with better tools, more people may be interested in PCE dev and there's some good stuff being made which may help a lot with that
@turboxray@Fabio_16bits Yeah @turboxray has been incredibly helpful with some of the issues I've been running into. Not just him, but other people in the community too! 😄
Exactly one year ago I put out a Tengai Makyou ZIRIA retrospective, all about the 1st Far East of Eden game, its development history, story & gameplay, legacy & more. For fans of the PC Engine, RPGs and game history who haven't seen it, here's a link: https://t.co/2CFIxC32Yb
@japmagads@ozidual This game has a fan-translation for those interested. This is a pretty good RPG! It has an expansive world, specially if you consider other games at this time and lots of things to do and explore. It has a nice soundtrack as well.
I reworked the entire map system (including how to load and run events), so now it's a bit more efficient and stable than before. Things are more flexible and easier to use now. Oh, I also added tile collision! #pcengine#turbografx#indiedev#retrogaming#gamedev#homebrew
Oh, and in addition to that, I've also made a lot of progress in the class and ability system. So now your characters can do more than just attack and use spells... well, in theory. I still have to code those, but the framework is ready! :)
