When I saw the photo, I couldn't resist tweeting. It touched the core of my heart somewhere. The picture features two very fine officers, professionals and human beings par excellence: Gen Rajesh Pushkar and Brig Kadyan. However, the most special element in this picture is the table in the office of the 2 Corps Commander which is Gen Pushkar himself at Ambala, which is a replica of a tank. Both officers are tank men, from the Cavalry Armoured Corps. The most remarkable feature of the table is a number written in black in the centre. Although I am not entirely certain, this number likely represents the tank assigned to Gen Pushkar when he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Ladies and gentlemen, one must understand how the army functions: when you become an officer and join your unit, there is no fancy car, office, or peon waiting for you. What awaits you is your troop, which is nothing but a body of soldiers with three tanks and smaller fighting units in tank warfare. As an officer, you are given command of a tank, for which you are responsible for its maintenance and upkeep. You keep records of various maintenance activities, running, oil changes, etc. The point is, you are supposed to master your tank and know it inside out—that's the army way of life. The general, who is a corps commander and a significant figure, still keeps this tank number to remind himself and the troops he commands that his priorities lie in the fundamentals of soldiering, and he expects the same from his troops. That's where the adage came from, a picture is worth a thousand words.

23 से 25 जून के बीच डेढ़ दिन तक हुई इस बातचीत में भारत की ओर से राममाधव, पूर्व सैन्य प्रमुख जनरल नरवणे और राजनयिक रुचि घनश्याम शामिल हुए हैं। सरकार ऐसी किसी भी बातचीत से इंकार कर रही है।

जनरल नरवणे द्वारा अपनी किताब में लिखी गई बातों को लेकर राहुल गांधी की टिप्पणियों से इंकार किया जाना कुछ समय पहले तक बेहद चर्चा में था।यह कहा जाने लगा कि संभवतः जनरल पर दबाव बनाने की कोशिश की गई हैं। लेकिन अब यह कहा जा सकता है कि सरकार ने उन्हें अपने पक्ष में शामिल कर अपनी नीतियों के प्रसार में लगा दिया है।

जो आश्चर्यजनक है वो ट्रैक 2 बातचीत में राममाधव का शामिल होना है। पहले अमेरिका में RSS के पक्ष को लेकर उनका पहुंचना और अब पाकिस्तान के साथ बातचीत में उनकी मौजूदगी हैरान करती है।

सरकार इस बातचीत से इंकार कर रही है लेकिन मुझे न जाने क्यों संदेह हो रहा है कि अमेरिका के दबाव में यह बातचीत हो रही है।

Army is having a sharp downfall and at a very fast pace ! All thanks to the New Generals and the recently Retired Generals who choose to keep silent hoping for appointment as the CDS or Governor. I am so disappointed with these officers. I have seen times where Army has zero tolerance to any kind of misbehaviour with even a sepoy. That kept the morale high and now it’s the opposite- senior army officers are entertaining IAS and Police officers . What a downfall. I salute the CO And the Major of the RR who took it head on and didn’t toe the line of the Generals of today who worry more about their own career rather than upholding the dignity of the OG and morale of all ranks of the Indian Army.
