@Glory9Glory children don't just wake up and start fighting their parents. parents aren't teaching their children morals, values, or ethics. they don't teach respect. they don't teach them how to be responsible or accountable. most importantly, they don't teach from a place of love.
@AkademiksTV at some point I would ask if I was being detained and then refuse to answer any more questions. if I'm being detained I want to speak to a lawyer. then I'm going to sue for harassment. it's going to prolong the issue, however.
@BuzzPatterson the bigger concern for me is that sailors, and service men in general, are so freely showing images to spark internet outrage. we had a saying, "loose lips sink ships", but now not so much anymore.
@BuzzPatterson as a person who served in the Navy, I highly doubt this is standard meal, especially on a carrier. I was on a destroyer and ate better. This could be, mid-rats, which is basically the leftovers from dinner for the midnight/overnight shift.
@AffluentMist yes and no. I grew up where my parents didn't knock but they also didn't care that I closed my door. it is true that teenagers need privacy, but they also need to respect the fact that it's your house and you are the parent. So his remark, was a no; but you could have knocked.
@Beehottie17 so yes and no. the desire to learn doesn't start and end in classrooms, it's the home. as a parent, I have to teach my child the importance in being educated and feeding their natural thirst for knowledge so that when this happens in the classroom, they will not opt in for ease.
@kennnnndawggggg@_parasocial@Tealflames@rellyrich10X no one is expecting a kindergartner to read Toni Morrison, but they should be able to read one and two syllable words that they or others around them speak on the regular. we have kids out here talking like adults but can't recognize those same words on a piece of paper.
@gradyunlaced@rellyrich10X as a high school teacher and administrator and someone who skipped kindergarten because I could read better than my peers, it really isn't that deep or difficult of a concept to grasp. parents just have to put in the work. some children will need less, some more, but can be done
@WallStreetApes if you choose to live in such a building, don't complain. if you don't live in such a building, don't complain. life's about choices; choose wisely.
@OrangeCoSheriff It's amazing how this post has exposed how many people don't know the law or purposely choose to drive slow to limit others from passing.
@whatnowtim@ChrisWard156395@OrangeCoSheriff the problem is that people do less than the speed limit and can be exceeded by about 5 to 10 miles before police will say anything. the main issue is that if you are traveling at the same speed or slower than the car to the right, you need to join them on the right.
