The older I get, the more I realize that life has seasons. And not every season needs to be your best one. Some seasons are for building. Some are for healing. Some are for just surviving. You don’t have to win every single chapter for the whole story to turn out well.
Every single thing you want in life is on the other side of something that sucks. That suck might be 100 workouts, 100 bland meals, 100 hours of work, or 100 hard conversations. Embrace it. Pay the cost of entry with pride. The answers you seek are found in the actions you avoid.
Maturity is realizing that a relationship can work and actually be fixed in almost any situation. It just takes the both of you to actually want it to work and correct what you're doing that is hurting your partner.
When I see athletes lose an important match by a very small margin, it makes me reflect on my own goals in life. I think about what it would feel like to give my absolute best and still fall short. Even when success is very close, failure is still possible. That idea scares me because I am not sure if I could handle such a deep disappointment. Watching these athletes reminds me that chasing big dreams is difficult, and sometimes hard work alone does not guarantee success. #INDvENG #Bethell
Avoid the temptation of revealing how hard you work, it only raises questions. The world values results, not the effort behind them. Struggle in silence. Let your composure suggest ease, and your ease suggest mastery. Effort unseen carries more weight than effort explained.
The harsh truth is that 99% of people will never amount to anything in this life. Most will stay average, broke, unsuccessful, and controlled by the systems at play. Losers at best. Stuck in victim mode.
Discipline is what gets you moving. Obsession is what keeps you from stopping. Discipline teaches you to stay calm when everything’s falling apart, but obsession doesn’t care about calm. It eats at you. It makes you push when there’s nothing left to give.
Every successful person I’ve ever met had that look in their eyes, the one that only obsession gives you. I know a lot of disciplined people who are still broke. They show up, they work hard, they stay consistent, but they never cross that line into obsession. The good news is those people are close. They’re on their way to greatness; they just haven’t gone all in yet.
Discipline keeps you grounded, but obsession is what breaks you through. The 1% who make it have both.
Will you break through, anon?
