On the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly, Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda held a warm and constructive meeting with DG WHO Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
He reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing global health equity, highlighting key initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, traditional medicine, AI-driven public health innovations, and sustained efforts towards TB elimination. He also underscored India’s role as the “Pharmacy of the World.”
DG WHO appreciated India’s health sector reforms and leadership in global health partnerships, and expressed commitment to further strengthening collaboration with WHO on shared priorities.

Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman led the third #India#Singapore Ministerial Roundtable #ISMR along with Union External Affairs Minister Dr. @DrSJaishankar, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri @PiyushGoyal and Union Minister for Railways, MeITY, and I&B Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw, in New Delhi today.
The Delegation from Singapore was led by Mr. @Gankimyong, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry.
During the meeting, the Ministers recalled that the bilateral ties have been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi’s visit to Singapore in 2024.
Both sides deliberated upon six pillars identified under ISMR, which include #Digitalization, #Skill Development, #Sustainability, #Healthcare & Medicine, #Advanced Manufacturing and #Connectivity.
The Ministers noted that the discussions in the 2nd round of ISMR has resulted in the conclusion of MoUs on #Healthcare, #Skill Development, #Digital Cooperation and #Semiconductor Ecosystem Cooperation.

Highlighted the key financing policy reforms and solutions that the FfD4 should deliver. Emphasised:
➡️ The importance of bold, innovative approaches to resource mobilization, enhanced South-South and triangular cooperation.
➡️ Developing countries should be given the policy space to grow and chart their own development pathways.
➡️ Recognized the catalytic role of MDBs in financing the SDGs. Achieving their ambitious objective requires enhanced coordination, with country platforms serving as effective mechanisms while engaging with client countries.
➡️ Strengthening the financing capacity of MDBs through implementing capital adequacy framework measures, leveraging financial innovations to attract private capital, and securing fresh capital contributions from donor countries is critical.
➡️ MDBs are well-positioned to engage with rating agencies and address the issue of stickiness of actual flows from EMDEs and procyclicality of sovereign ratings urgently.
