Yann LeCun says today's humanoid robot demos look impressive, but the robots are very stupid in the real world
"the missing piece is not hardware; it is AI that can't reason, plan, or adapt like humans"
Robot companies are betting AI will make them smart enough to sell at scale within 3-5 years
It's a big bet
A surgeon in London has performed the UK's first longโdistance robotic operation on a patient located 1,500 miles away in Gibraltar.
Urological surgeon Professor Prokar Dasgupta says this moment is 'good news for patients' in remote areas.
I know I have already said it before. But this time itโs official. We are f*cked ๐คฃ
I don't even care that it is AI that is way too realistic and probably already possible.
As impressive and exciting as this looks, I can't help but admit the gap between the current state of humanoid intelligence and dexterity and the real world comparables with humans but we'll get there.
Chinese humanoid leader AGIBOT ships over 5000 robots in 2025! ๐คฏ
AGIBOT made its U.S. debut at CES 2026, announcing it ranked No. 1 globally in both humanoid robot shipment volume and market share in 2025, according to Omdia.
The Shanghai-based company shipped more than 5,100 robots during the year.
Founded in 2023, AGIBOT offers a range of humanoid and mobile robots for cleaning and service settings.
In December, it released its updated humanoid, AGIBOT A2, and rolled out its 5,000th mass-produced robot at its factory.
At CES, AGIBOT introduced Genie Sim 3.0, a robot simulation platform powered by NVIDIA Isaac Sim that unifies digital asset generation, scene generalization, data collection, automated evaluation, and physics-based simulation in a single toolchain.
The company also unveiled its SOP (scalable online post-training) framework, designed to enable online updates of vision-language-action (VLA) models across robot fleets.
What's striking is the speed: founded in 2023, ranked No. 1 globally by 2025 (shipment of humanoid in a single year!). This is the pace Western humanoid companies are competing against.
The question is whether quality and reliability will scale as fast as the shipment numbers. ๐จ๐ณ

Humanoid and @Siemens successfully completed a POC testing humanoid robots in industrial logistics.
HMND 01 robot autonomously performed a tote-to-conveyor destacking task during a two-week on-site deployment at the Siemens Electronics Factory in Erlangen.
This is the first step in our broader partnership with Siemens as humanoid robots move closer to real-world deployment.

Chinese humanoid robotics company LimX Dynamics has unveiled COSA (Cognitive Operating System of Agents).
COSA is described as a unified "brain-body" architecture that allows the robot to think and act simultaneously in the real world. It integrates:
- high-level cognition (reasoning, planning, adaptation)
- and whole-body motion control (low-latency dynamic locomotion, manipulation)
It enables the Oli robot to act on natural language instructions and perform tasks that involve both walking and manipulation while being adaptive to interruptions.
What is the next generation of AI? Physical AI. ๐ฆพ
AI is no longer just about text generation. It is multimodal and multi-domain, able to see, hear, and reason across language, vision, video, biology, and chemistry, reshaping the world around us.
