After initially making excuses for Tesla some of the influencers I follow now say yea it was poor communication but it was a great event and they are excited. I would be too if I had seen the livestream or been plainly told there wasn’t going to be one.

That’s the split, and it’s honest.
They were in the room. Food, rides, a 15-minute keynote, first public Cybercab trips, then they got to post the tape. Of course they’re excited. That’s a different night than sitting at home refreshing X for a stream that never existed.
The walk-back you’re seeing is the predictable second pass: first protect the company, then concede the comms were bad once the embargo lifted and they already had the content. “Poor communication, but a great event” is easy to say when you were the event. It costs them nothing.
Your standard is simpler and fairer. Exclusive is fine. Hype it as a public moment and then go dark is not. Excitement after a livestream, or after a clear “no stream, recap at 9,” would be the same product with none of the bait-and-switch. They got the first version. Everyone else got the second, plus an apology that never came.
Influencers aren’t lying that the car looked good. They’re just describing a night you were never invited to watch. Those are not the same review.

@DrPhiltill Is this in reference to The National Space Transportation Policy signed 8/20 by the President that has directed NASA and others to identify and develop new launch and reentry sites to meet 2030 goal of 1000 launches.
@aaronburnett Someone knew what they were doing. Hard but not impossible. Too hard and we wouldn’t try. This way we’re forced to innovate and use resources in space. Too easy and we’d just strip Earth instead of doing the harder work off-planet.

@SawyerMerritt They are going to need a building this big just to process cargo not everything will be using the pez dispenser. Lot of them will be fuel tankers. I would like to see where and how they are going to process the people to fly.
Don’t limit the Dream. As Gwynne Shotwell said they are making Sci-Fi real. It has its own airport, fuel production, power. They are building a city to process thousands of flights of cargo and people to the Moon and Mars. Just imagine southern Louisiana in 10 years with all the support and space companies moving in. Schools and training all these people have to be trained somewhere. I am hoping they build Star-Fleet Academy there. If you own land within 50 miles of there you hit the jackpot.

SpaceX has asked FAA to approve the same reentry corridor used by Dragon for Starship to land in FL same one can be used for Starbase and LA. 1 corridor 3 sites. Makes sense to me.
The President’s National Space Transportation policy signed 08/20/2026 directed priority reentry corridors be established to support over 1000 flights by 2030
This is basically the idea distilled into a practical product.
A simple NASA Loop app could work like this:
• You download it and pick the topics you care about (Artemis, Mars rovers, ISS, Earth science, launches, student challenges, specific centers, etc.).
• It quietly sends occasional push notifications only for those topics — not a constant firehose.
• Tapping the notification takes you straight to a short video, image, article, livestream, or deeper page.
• Over time it could learn what you actually open and refine what it sends.
That would recreate the old “someone who shares my interest keeps me updated” feeling, but at scale and without needing personal connections.
Pieces of this already exist in scattered form:
• Spot the Station does push alerts for ISS passes.
• Some NASA apps and email lists send updates.
• Social media follows give you a stream if you check them.
But nothing currently does the clean, personalized, low-noise “interest loop” version you’re describing. Most official channels still lean toward broadcasting everything to everyone, which is why people who only care about certain topics tune out.
An app like that wouldn’t solve every outreach problem, but it would directly address the gap we’ve been talking about: making good content find the people who would actually care about it, instead of forcing them to go hunting for it every time

Before the internet, people stayed “in the loop” through small interest networks. The NASA fan kept other NASA fans updated. You didn’t have to go looking — relevant stuff found you.
Search made information available on demand, but it killed the push side of those loops. AI is even better at answering questions… as long as you remember to ask.
What’s still missing is a modern version of those old loops: something that notices what you care about and quietly keeps you current. Without it, even good ideas and great content stay invisible to most of the people who would actually care — especially younger audiences.

AI sits in an odd middle place right now. It can pull together far more context and explanation than any single person in the old network could. But it’s still mostly reactive — you have to open the conversation and ask. It doesn’t wake up and say “hey, two launches today and the Artemis timeline just shifted.”
NASA’s problem is a classic version of this. They produce excellent content — rover updates, launch coverage, science results, student challenges, imagery — but the distribution is fragmented across dozens of accounts, apps, websites, and platforms. The people who already care know where to look. The people who might care, especially younger ones, often never get the unprompted nudge that would pull them in. The old human loops that used to do that work have largely dissolved, and nothing coherent has fully replaced them.
A dedicated “NASA loop” that proactively surfaces the right things to the right people is an interesting idea. In practice it would look less like one giant feed and more like smart, opt-in systems: launch alerts with context, short youth-friendly explainers, personalized digests based on what you’ve shown interest in, and occasional “here’s something you might not have seen” suggestions.
Some pieces already exist in scattered form, but nothing that feels like a coherent, intelligent loop that learns what keeps you interested and quietly keeps you current. Without that, even good ideas and great content stay invisible to most of the people who would actually care.

You’re right that pure reactive AI (ask and receive) doesn’t fully solve the “in the loop” problem. The next useful step is systems that can notice relevant developments and surface them without requiring the user to remember to check. Your musing isn’t confusing. It’s a clear diagnosis of why even great content often fails to create sustained excitement, especially with younger audiences who live in highly fragmented attention environments. Thanks for the update. Encouraged you are making progress. Of all the space station companies I believe in VAST, been following you since the beginning, that’s why it is so disappointing when you announce delays. You changed from launch NET Q1 2027 to launches in 2027 does this mean we can expect the announcement of another delay maybe later in 2027 or 2028.
Florida Louisiana and Starbase would all use the same reentry corridor for Starship. This is the same one Drsgon used to land in FL. Just another reason to pick Pecan Island. The FAA has already completed the environmental impact they haven’t issued the license yet. So if everything goes to plan according to Elon then by 2027/28 there should be Starships lined up in LEO like at an airport waiting to come in to land at one of these locations. This would simplify everything for FAA
