The mission of our lab is to develop metastasis prevention strategies by understanding the biology of disseminated tumor cells and their microenvironments.
New lab photo!! Standing offer for Dr. Biden to join our lab- she did love the views!!! Unforgettable experience to have @FLOTUS visit our lab, learn about tumor dormancy, and how we want to prevent metastasis and develop new curative approaches via @FredHutch_Met_X
Excited to share our lab’s latest work in @SciImmunology, examining how CAR-T cells bypass the niches that normally support stem-like subsets in vivo and how this influences their sensitivity to checkpoint blockade.
😁 Honored to be selected as a CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellow (award period 2026-2029) @CancerResearch . I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors @GhajarLab and @EvNewell1 — I wouldn’t be here without their guidance. Excited to continue this work @fredhutch@FredHutch_Met_X
Last night Adam Kampff, the glue, the light, the catalyst, the builder, the smile, left us. He and his work transformed the lives of many labs, scientists, students. He kept inspiring and being generous until his last transformation, and worked tirelessly to set up a foundation to continue the work. He once said when moving from Lisbon to London "I am not leaving, I am just spreading the good work further". Thank you Adam! Thank you!
Hiring: PostDoc in Tissue Clearing & 3D Histopathology 🧪🖥️

Too many men die of prostate cancer. We miss you John. We discovered a new way of attacking androgen receptor driven prostate cancers that will lead to new therapeutics. This was a wonderful collaboration with @li_haolong and Felix Feng (rest in peace).

Our latest immunology study reveals rheumatoid arthritis begins silently – attacking the immune system years before symptoms appear. This breakthrough opens the door to preventing RA before it begins.
This 7-year study is a result of team science at its best! Scientists at the @AllenInstitute, in collaboration with @BRIseattle, @CUAnschutz, and @UCSanDiego, mapped the earliest immune changes in individuals at risk for RA, shifting focus from reactive treatment to early intervention.
I’m proud of the Allen Institute team for pushing science toward earlier detection and better outcomes for patients.
