@GibraltarFA@jessjewlry My son just received his birthday gift - a thoughful surprise that has made his day! Many thanks @GibraltarFA for the gift and to Taxi Association for delivering it!
Important notification! It's Stanislav Petrov Day. On 26/9/83, the Soviet missile detection system said it saw 5 US missiles incoming. Lt Col Petrov guessed rightly it was a false alarm and didn't tell his superiors, very possibly preventing a nuclear war: https://t.co/qMRjBU4f4x
Having met the Prime Minister earlier today, I was unconvinced that he had a plan to reach a deal on Brexit. No proposal has been submitted to the EU. We were told that if it had been submitted, the EU would have dismissed it. But that talks were ‘going well’.
#OTD in 1982, Argentina began Operation Rosario and invaded the Falkland Islands.
The infamous telex conversation between Falklands and London
FK: We have lots of new friends
LON: What about invasion rumours
FK: Those are the friends I was meaning
The Falklands War had begun

140+ factual, fully-sourced examples of the impact Brexit is already having on the UK. Jobs going, investment drying up, companies moving assets to the EU, or redomiciling. And all happening as Government burns through £billions chasing a no deal Brexit.

In order to leave no doubt whatsoever and ensure utter clarity of the UK/Gibraltar positions, the UK has today responded to the EU Council and Commission declarations, asking that the response be sent to the EU Head of Govt, which includes the Prime Minister of Spain.
So I once heard a brilliant ancedote from a senior official in the Israeli negotiation team
It applies to what has just happened on Gibraltar
People need to be more Israeli here and less like the Palestinians - see below

In #PMQs I received firm assurances from the Prime Minister that the Government will not allow Spain to exclude #Gibraltar from any future trade arrangements post-Brexit, and that the important safeguards for the Rock included in the Withdrawal Agreement will not be put at risk.
I had the opportunity to fly home this week to catch up with some of the @GibraltarFA squad. We spoke about their remarkable rise and how they make football a family affair

Amazing photo of ARMISTICE DAY AND REMEMBRANCE posted by #GibraltarGovernment today - The projection on the Rock face will be one of the biggest in the world.
“I smile politely at this revelation, but deep down I am a little worried. If this ultra-conservative católico y apostólico finds out I’m from Gibraltar, I tell myself, seguro que me la arma!”

Gibraltar voted to remain in the EU by 96% and the UK and Spain have yet to reach agreement over its future after Brexit. Read
