Thank you to all the participants in the wilderness walk yesterday. We love to show off this incredible place. Special thanks to Spruce Coulee Farms and @RickSkibsted for hosting the day.
A great piece on bats from the @weathernetwork! As part of @WCS_Canada's Western Bat Program, we have been part of the North American Bat Monitoring Program & continue to monitor & look for treatment options for white-nose syndrome.
This 1972 Political Cartoon was drawn by Calgary Herald Cartoonist Tom Innes at the height of the debates on developing areas like Nose Hill and Fish Creek. It still rings true today for areas like Aurora Business Park and Richardo Ranch. #SaveNoseCreek#SaveRichardoRanch#YYC
@savetherosebud@cowsandfish only 2-5% of our area is wetlands, over80% of wildlife need them. Elite ractrack can’t see beyond their own self-indulgence. It’s shameful. @savetherosebud
This is so important! @cityofcalgary, pls heed the request to exceed legal requirements and follow ethical considerations to protect the bank swallows and their habitat. They will need more than just the location of their nests. They feed on insects and require space to do.
Time marches on. Since 2021, now over 8000 acres are protected by conservation easement. We know endangered bats hibernate here. The racetrack says leopard frogs were found at the site. Racetrack in the middle of critical habitat for bank swallow. #savetherosebud
Remarkable numbers, only 2-5% of our landscape and yet over 80% of wildlife rely on wetlands. A racetrack for the elite plans to wreck some more wetlands for personal gratification. Shameful #savetherosebud
Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay! Even though #riparian areas only make up 2-5% of the landscape, they play a vital role in maintaining #water quality & supply, fish & wildlife habitat & so much more! Learn more about these areas on our website: https://t.co/k8OSZmtFzu
Wildlife biologist Susan Holroyd @pintobat & Cory Olson on the importance to #savetherosebud:
The #Badlands are #bats' land - NO racetrack in the #RosebudValley!🚫 READ:👇
Opinion: At-risk bats in race against speedway for existence https://t.co/fHoiELKjPV via @calgaryherald
The proponent has said it my land and I will do what I want. Unfortunately the birds, bats etc don’t recognize his boundaries. Unfortunately neither does the noise. This is an incompatible development with life long consequences.
How can a racetrack be compatible with this! @RosebudTheatre is a provincial icon, now threatened by a Formula 1 Racetrack destroying this beautiful Rosebud River Valley? #savetherosebud
And it all washes down into the wetlands contaminating them. The wetlands that are in critical habitat. To think you can mitigate after the damage is done is ridiculous. #savetherosebud
What about that tire scrub on a racetrack with a 9 acre skid pad? ... "Researchers are only beginning to uncover the toxic cocktail of chemicals, microplastics, and heavy metals in car and truck tires" #savetherosebud

Golden Eagles are at risk in Conneticut and they are endagered too in Alberta, CA, where a racetrack will destroy their habitat. NO racetrack in the #RosebudValley!🚫 If you want to save theses majestic birds, then help to #savetherosebud! Find out how on https://t.co/6fTrqkB6K4
