This 1972 Political Cartoon was drawn by Calgary Herald Cartoonist Tom Innes at the height of the debates on developing areas like Nose Hill and Fish Creek. It still rings true today for areas like Aurora Business Park and Richardo Ranch. #SaveNoseCreek#SaveRichardoRanch#YYC
How can a racetrack be compatible with this! @RosebudTheatre is a provincial icon, now threatened by a Formula 1 Racetrack destroying this beautiful Rosebud River Valley? #savetherosebud
@savetherosebud What a beautiful spot!!!! Why do we want to dig it up and then contaminate it. In what world does this make any sense??? I hope not this one!!
The largest wetland in the valley. It will get LESS water and seasonally dry up sooner and what it gets will be contaminated by racetracks and skid pad. In critical habitat ... bank swallow foraging, leopard frogs, bats. Wrong location for a racetrack @savetherosebud
It’s crystal clear. A racetrack shouldn’t be built in this critical habitat. Federally recognized and part of the recovery strategy for the bank swallow. #savetherosebud
The @UCPCaucus@rebeccakschulz claiming to be improving Alberta’s trails through partnerships while systematically destroying the Rosebud River Valley Watershed and all of the Tourism associated with the Valley, SHAME! @savetherosebud https://t.co/FIl09PcOo2
"The elite want their own racetrack in Alberta’s badlands.
Local farmers are pushing back"
Will Alberta rise to the challenge of protecting vital prairie?
Is Rosebud a 'pristine viewscape'?

Wildlife biologist Susan Holroyd @pintobat & Cory Olson on the importance to #savetherosebud:
The #Badlands are #bats' land - NO racetrack in the #RosebudValley!🚫 READ:👇

And now this...these are researchers warning everyone to stop taking biodiversity for granted. Save our natural spaces. Pay attention and just STOP. "Let us destroy just one more time" will put us over the edge. #savetherosebud@KneehillCounty@AB_Enviro

@savetherosebud@VinceAndersen Not only how can they approve this but how can they approve it in a river valley impacting countless wildlife including endangered and federally protected species. It is quite shameful
THIS is how a Race Track is built,
THIS is the destruction that can never be reclaimed.
HOW could any provincial regulator approve this destruction?
HOW could any municipality approve this destruction?
HOW do we stop this NONSENSE? #savetherosebud
This is the quiet and unobtrusive footprint we should leave on these natural spaces. Imagine tearing this up for a Formula 1 racetrack. Thanks for posting @mark_dorin
❗UPDATE re Rosebud Valley, home to federally-listed species at risk, and set to be destroyed for a racetrack.
@savetherosebud has applied for a judicial review. See the full news release on our website:

Landowners in the Rosebud River Valley placed bat detectors this winter. There ARE Big Brown Bats hibernating all along the valley in at lease a 4 mile stretch. One more reason to protect all the habitat in and above the valley.
NO Racetrack here #savetherosebud
What about that tire scrub on a racetrack with a 9 acre skid pad? ... "Researchers are only beginning to uncover the toxic cocktail of chemicals, microplastics, and heavy metals in car and truck tires" #savetherosebud

Presenting on #WorldMigratoryBirdsDay the Rosebud River Valley's largest Bank Swallow Colony (2021 edition) ... Now in Critical Habitat under SARA. Narrated by Dr Geoff Holroyd, PhD, Swallow Researcher for over 40 years. (1/2) #savetherosebud
@savetherosebud@debra_mcisaac There’s no confusion. Board members hand picked for development and bad development to boot. Already with his hand out looking for tax payers money. Shame on you for asking us to pay for your playground and shame on anyone who thinks it’s good proper. #savetherosebud
