BAL is such a great continental initiative (yet another one that’s originated in Rwanda 👏🏿 👏🏿) giving unprecedented opportunity to talented African kids. How great?, you may ask. A young South Sudanese hoopster, Khaman Maluach, who grew up poor in Kampala, and later was scouted in a BAL championship, ended up signing an NBA contract. Just wow!

It also follows that, if you are a sports fan, you cannot not appreciate the efforts of the president of Rwanda.

Let’s be honest, the BAL wouldn’t be around without his passion for sport. It would not be there without his vision of the possibilities of sport as a marketing tool, not only for a country but a continent. We would have no BAL without the president’s work, extensively together with personalities like Masai Ujiri & other movers and shakers of the BB world.
