@Notthedumblond@lanechanged But yes, they also listen. 😢 I’ve also had ads pop up for something I commented on with a friend and neither of us looked up/searched the item. That was really creepy.
@Notthedumblond@lanechanged My brother works in tech for the govt. I had questions once reagarding this. He told me how our phones “talk” to one another. Our phones get cookies from the people around us b/c the premise was always, if you’re hanging around them, you must share similar interests. 😵💫
🥵POTENTIALLY FATAL HEAT UP TO 120F!🥵
UPDATE: Models have been trending even hotter, with the NWS now forecasting that the heat wave will push heat indices up to 120 DEGREES! This heat can be FATAL without adequate cooling, so make sure to stay hydrated!
I'm issuing a *DEODORANT WARNING* for Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday as a heat wave builds in with feels like temps between 105°-115°. Residents are urged to apply deodorant generously and seek air conditioning to avoid a 100% chance of B.O. This is a particularly stinky situation. Your friends and family will thank you later. Stay cool! 🥵
‼️Coral Rescue underway now in South Florida “to prevent the potential for complete loss of the iconic elkhorn coral species”, according to the University of Miami Rosenstiel School.
Due to an ongoing marine #heatwave, sea surface temps have already been above the bleaching threshold (87°F) for ~2 months. Astonishingly this year is keeping pace, neck and neck with 2023, the worst ocean heatwave South Florida has ever seen. This effort is in response to rising ocean temperatures and widespread coral bleaching and mortality events in 2023 and 2024. The rescued corals will be brought to land-based facilities to be kept safe until waters cool again.
Bottom line: bleaching is now a yearly event in South FL and the Keys. Mass mortality events are becoming more frequent. Very little of the once vibrant coral reefs in the Keys are left. And as long human-caused warming continues to increase, these events will get worse, until there’s nothing left. It’s a shame, the Florida Keys is the World’s 3rd largest reef tract, a US treasure ravaged by human activity to the degree that we need to “intervene” again to preserve the little that’s left.

MAJOR SATELLITE OUTAGE 🛰️⚠️ The GOES-19 satellite, used for tracking hurricanes in the Atlantic, is out until further notice according to NOAA. The satellite monitors the eastern United States, Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, and Gulf.
The outage affects everything from visible and infrared satellite imagery to lightning detection and hurricane analysis products. While this is a major issue, it does not mean weather forecasting or hurricane forecasting stops. Meteorologists still have radar, weather balloons, surface observations, aircraft reconnaissance, weather models, and other satellites available.
NOAA has not yet announced what caused the problem or how long repairs may take. The good news is that NOAA designed the satellite system with redundancy, including a backup satellite that could potentially be brought online if needed. I'll keep you updated when things return to normal (hopefully soon).

How it started vs. how it's going 🌭
Jonah, the viral pup who just wanted a hot dog at the Marlins game, enjoyed his dream day at the ballpark this afternoon!
On a hot July day, a single mature tree in your yard pumps somewhere around 100 gallons of water up from its roots and out through its leaves as water vapor. A mature elm with 150,000 leaves can clear that in a day.
As that water evaporates off the leaf surface, it carries heat away with it, the same basic physics that makes sweat work. The air around the canopy drops measurably.
The cooling effect of a single large tree transpiring 100 gallons of water is roughly equivalent to two household air conditioning units running all day. Except it runs on sunlight and groundwater, costs nothing, and has been doing it since before your house was built.
A yard with mature canopy runs 5 to 10 degrees cooler than a paved or treeless yard next door. That's not a feeling. It's a physics difference you can measure with a thermometer. The urban heat island is real, and it gets worse one removed tree at a time.
The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is this weekend, before another hot ass July like this one comes around.
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know @realDonaldTrump and family did.
250 years ago we declared independence from a king who ran the colonies as a family business. In just 18 months the Trumps have made King George look like an amateur.
A $620 million Pentagon loan, the largest in the program’s history, to a company Don Jr.’s firm bought into three months before.
An Air Force drone contract to a startup the princelings took public through a golf course company they own a piece of.
The Army’s largest drone motor order ever, to a company where Don Jr. sits on the board and holds millions in stock.
A $24 million Pentagon robotics contract to the company that employs Eric as Chief Strategy Advisor.
A stake in the largest undeveloped tungsten deposit on earth, in Kazakhstan, backed by $1.6 billion in US government support.
Jared’s fund seeded with $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince, now $6.2 billion, 99% of it foreign money from Gulf governments. Over $110 million in fees collected from the Saudis alone. He negotiates American foreign policy with the governments that pay him.
$2.3 billion from crypto ventures their father regulates. More than a million people bought in and lost $2.3 billion. The money didn’t grow. It simply moved from the subjects pockets to the crown’s coffers.
And the next one is already drafted. A proposed ATF rule that will allow guns to be shipped straight to your front door. The government’s own estimate is 3.3 million home gun deliveries a year. Don Jr. sits on the board of the online gun megastore built to cash in. He holds 300,000 shares.
And that’s only the fraction they’ve allowed us to see. Not one subpoena served. Not one search executed. Why hide anything when you own the investigators?
Me? They searched a laptop for six years. Federal prosecutors. Grand juries. Subpoena power. Congressional hearings. They found nothing. I made about $200k a year selling paintings when my Dad was President, and they made my paintings part of an impeachment inquiry.
For six years they’ve asked Where’s Hunter? What about the laptop?
Wrong questions. The right one is 250 years old. Does America belong to a family?
They’ve given their answer. Long live the King.
Can everyone just step back and realize how insane it is that the US Supreme Court had to rule on the constitutionality of the US CONSTITUTION and the vote to uphold the Constitution wasn't unanimous!!!
The Constitution barely survived today.
By a 5-4 vote, Trump’s Supreme Court declined to let him rewrite the Constitution and end birthright citizenship.
We’re hanging on by a thread. The fight to defend our democracy is far from over.
If you ever doubt how magical this world is, one day you will decide to go to a World Cup watch party in Oakland that you found online to root for a country where you spent two years trying to coax English out of the mouths of Cape Verdean teenagers. 1/7
