Ontario's closure of outdoor recreational activities (including pickleball!) to control #COVID19 does not make sense.
Outdoor activities are vital for mental & physical health, especially with stay-at-home orders.
Science is clear: Outdoor COVID transmission is extremely rare.
Schools in ON closed Dec 18, case count 2,357 that day, 14% of those aged 0-19yrs. Jan 8 case count was 3,443 and 0-19yrs were...14%. With schools closed 3wks, cases climbed 46%, kids carrying exact same portion. Still think schools were driving transmission?#COVID19Ontario
@dave62@calphonso So this IS about teachers and the vaccine. @calphonso can you confirm that teachers are asking for vaccinations before reopening schools? Personally I am just wondering what’s driving the push for extending the closure.
@calphonso You are clearly pushing to extend the closure in Ontario, using rumours from Quebec and experts from Alberta to back your argument. Do you have any suggestions for parents who need to work thru that time? For teachers who are also parents, expected to teach a class and parent?
@BradMBradford I’m hearing that fencing has been installed on the tobogganing hill at East Lynn Park. Is this true? Who’s decision is this? What is this meant to achieve? #topoli@TorontosMayor
@CPHO_Canada Also no playgrounds, daycare, preschool or family visits. The kids are living under martial law, while adults are encouraged to continue walking their dogs, enjoy their daily jog, and ride the crowded Dufferin bus to work for minimum wage (and still pay a fare!). Lockdown or not?
Hey @MLB, here's an idea- just give the pitchers and catchers earpieces, so they don't have to show their signs. Then nobody will see them to steal them. #buzzergate
