@Wynand73146396@dougraynes No. There is nothing lazy here. You need to read Hudson Taylor’s story. That man ministered more in one year than most Christians do in their entire lives.
@JohnsonBelieve3@dougraynes What?! When Hudson Taylor said this he had spent his all as a missionary in China. He was exhausted in body, mind, soul, and spirit after much trial, tribulation, heartache, and labor. But in his weakness, he found God was strong. Just as He promises.
@BriceCollin Listened to this audio yesterday after you posted it. Some very good thoughts there. As a single person in ministry for a long time, I really appreciated it.
@LeahBSassy This thread is cracking me up! In high school, a friend visited my church for Wed. Prayer meeting. Halfway through, with big eyes, she says, You guys pray a LOT! We hadn’t even taken requests yet!
@MelissaFloBix @msrev2007 Yes! This. My dad pastored a small church for over 25 years. He didn’t want to know who gave what. That was between the people and God. Our treasurers and financial secretaries did an excellent job. Without him checking this info, the people were always very generous.
@ErikLindeen @MelissaFloBix The relationship between a missionary and their supporters is VERY different from that of pastor to congregation. There are much better ways to learn about someone’s spiritual maturity.
@marian1ibrarian @BethMooreLPM I’ve had many periods of life when the coffee shop was my only “quiet” place. One of my most transformative moments with the Lord took place over a London Fog in a coffee shop. That’s why I’ve made them such a big part of my novels.
@JillJensen @mdw1988 A church friend suggested the reason another single friend and I are still single in our 40s is bc we don’t make ourselves available enough to the guys around us. I said, What guys? There are literally no single guys in our church over 25. 🤣 Gotta read the room! 🤣
@Jessicaebersole It’s in God’s hands, and so are you. It’s okay to grieve and be real with God. HE KNOWS IT ALL ANYWAY! 😊 Our tears are precious to Him. Our waiting works patience, experience, and hope because in it we discover who He is and how faithful He is. Just let Him hold you.
@Jessicaebersole Oh, I know that pain. This week, single, 45, childless, I’ve struggled with the possibility of hysterectomy and the why of not having “someone” to walk with through it. But a GREATER Someone is here. Lean into Jesus. Pour out your heart. His peace is beyond explanation. Hugs!
@JonathanLeeman These nuances made the difference between government controlled churches and those that remained strong in the USSR. Let’s consult history!
We may all have choices to make. What is our foundation? Where do the choices lead? How far are we willing to go? In either direction.
