Innovation will always be hindered by tasks that are needed to maintain existing systems and designs. In everything you create, no matter the median, make maintenance a first a class citizen and you will find that innovation to replace that existing component is accelerated.

@shanselman @searls Actually, @shanselman gave a talk that touched on this at the Minnesota developers conference (2016 I think?) I found it quite thought provoking

I guess my point is while system design limiting distraction is good, people still need the conscious decision to care about who controls their time.
