NAFDAC Uncovers Suspected Counterfeit Alcoholic Drinks Factory in Aba
NAFDAC has uncovered a suspected counterfeit alcoholic drinks production facility at No. 25 Omenazu Street, Aba, Abia State.
Acting on credible intelligence, officials discovered the facility operating in unhygienic conditions. The suspected operator reportedly fled upon the team’s arrival, abandoning a vehicle in which counterfeit packaging materials bearing the names of Sir Edwards Scotch Whisky and Scottish Hills Whisky, empty bottles and a drum containing approximately 200 litres of liquid were found.
Inside the facility, officials found counterfeit packaging materials, bottle caps, sealing machines, empty bottles, cartons, tanks containing various liquid concoctions and dirty sieves reportedly used in the production process. Plastic buckets and 200-litre drums containing ethanol and tree bark immersed in ethanol were also discovered, raising serious concerns about the safety and quality of the products being produced.
The estimated value of the equipment, materials and facility components is over ₦500 million. The Agency urges members of the public to provide credible information on suspected illegal manufacturing activities to the NAFDAC Call Centre on 0800-1-623322 or 0700-1-623322, or email [email protected].
At least seven Nigerian Christians were killed in separate attacks south of Jos, the capital of Plateau State, on Friday.
The attacks credited to Fulani militants began in the afternoon when a woman was killed in Ntul village, Mangu Local Government Area. Around the same time, two young men were killed in Burdinga village in Gashish District, Barkin Ladi LGA.
Later around late evening, four more people were killed in Shurum village near Dorowa Babuje in Ropp District, also in Barkin Ladi.
The coordinated nature of the attacks has heightened fear among residents.
The violence comes amid increased security deployments in the region following the renewed U.S.-Nigeria security cooperation. Some community leaders have expressed concern over recent calls by Fulani leaders for the withdrawal of security operatives, including State Security Service personnel who have made dozens of arrests in the region in recent months.
Residents said they fear further attacks on the majority Christian communities in the area.
More violence, and more massacres of entire Christian villages and communities.
Islamists in Nigeria charge through a Christian village on motorbikes with AK47s firing on and murdering Christian villagers.
This is a daily occurrence, and yet western media remains silent. Men, women and children are slaughtered, women and children raped and kidnapped, men beheaded. Entire villages wiped out in minutes.
Remind me what occupation they’re fighting against? This is ethnic cleansing and pure hatred against non Muslims. This is what actual genocide looks like.

These victims fighting for their survival in the hands of Islamic Fulani killer terrorists are of Yoruba origin.
Yet, whenever we speak out about insecurity under President Tinubu, some Yoruba people accuse us of tribalism instead of addressing the problem.
Insecurity is not a tribal issue. It is a national crisis. No Nigerian should be forced to defend a government while innocent citizens are being killed or kidnapped. Human lives must matter more than ethnic loyalty or political affiliation.
This is what Obama and NATO did to President Muammar Gaddafi of Libya.
This is the day Libya died.
And the people who promised liberation moved on, leaving Libyans to live with the consequences.

These are young men sent to fight a war they never wanted, forced to pay with their lives for political decisions they never made.
While politicians sit safely in their offices, young men are thrown into trenches, families bury their sons, and entire communities are destroyed.
The people who start wars rarely pay the price. The poor do.
Politicians should fight their own damn wars instead of sending young men to die for their ambitions.
No more wars in Africa.

This is why the UAE is massacring innocent Sudanese people.
Sudan is blessed with enormous gold deposits.
Basically, every rock in Sudan has some gold in it.
The UAE wants access to Sudan’s wealth, and ordinary Sudanese are paying the price in blood.
Sudan and all the wealth buried beneath it belong to the people of Sudan — not greedy Emiratis.
Africa is not your mine. Sudan is not your colony.
