Come along to Gillespie Park on the first Friday of every month at 10am for a guided nature walk. The walk is for all ages and is accessible for those with dementia and special education needs. There is an sensory element as well as hearing about the park's wildlife and history.
I’m so glad to see that people supported the connection of the Mother Field to the dog free areas at the north of Highbury Fields. It was always strange having Islington’s biggest green space bisected by a road and I’m loving the way people are using the reclaimed space already.
This is not the way to improve public health. LTNs make short car trips less attractive and walking and cycling 🧑🏽🦯🚶🏽♀️👨🦼👨🏽🦽🚲 safer and more convenient.
The Lib Dem ANPR plan would defeat the public health goals and bizarrely privilege car use by LTN dwellers.
The council must consider the needs of all LTNs’ residents and the impact on those living in the surrounding areas.
Giving LTNs’ residents access to their LTN through camera filters would solve many problems.

This from @RachelAldred is helpfully based on academic research. If you want to understand the thinking behind the introduction of low traffic neighbourhoods this, as @HighburyLTN points out, is a great place to start.
Walked round Highbury’s new people friendly streets today.
4 girls racing each other down the road, 2 on bikes, 2 on foot.
3 children sat in the (closed) road, drawing with chalk.
When cars disappear, children reclaim their space...
Another one from the standard playbook: Lazily fail to design development around existing mature trees. Pass plans that trees must be destroyed even though the same housing could be built whilst saving the trees. Blame those trying to save the trees for opposing new housing.
Fantastic work by pupils and staff at @BrecknockSchool for #cleanairday last week. 👏👏👏
Children know we need:
🌿less driving
🌿more walking and cycling
🌿clean air
for their health and everyone's. So let's all play our parts.
Today is a celebration of our collective strength - millions of people across Europe standing together against fascism, and winning.
Today we remember them and celebrate the end of a dark period in history #VEDay75#VEDay2020
“We are constantly in this cycle of melancholy & contentedness, we don’t know how to react to this situation ...” the @IslingtonYC (Youth Council) powerfully observant, poetic even, about our situation living with the continuing risk of the virus.
Great to see Will Norman, London’s walking and cycling commissioner, is now ready to act on urgent calls for #SpaceForDistancing

It's an extremely busy time for #OurNHSPeople, so join us this evening at 8pm to say thank you for all their hard work looking after our loved ones up and down the country. #ThankYouNHS#ClapForCarers 👏💙
@SadiqKhan You keep saying that. I do not think the Mayor election works the way you think it does.
This election is different so Londoners can vote without risk.
By voting #SianBeforeKhan you can back the candidate that you like most (@SianBerry), and still choose a backup for round 2.
You can be sure that if someone tells you that an election is a two horse race, it isn't. And the reason they're saying it is because they're afraid of you supporting the third horse that's doing better than they'd like and stands to overtake if people vote as they really think.
Last chance to complete @islingtonbc consultation on the road through Highbury Fields. I hope that people can see the benefits of less traffic and no traffic bisecting Islington's biggest green open space. https://t.co/DU2O16qkG9
