An APTONYM is a name peculiarly suited to its owner, like Usain Bolt (a sprinter), John Laws (a judge), or Sara Blizzard (a meteorologist). An INAPTONYM is one that is particularly unsuited to its owner, like Jaime Sin - who later in life became a Roman Catholic cardinal.
@Ajarncom It's really not that hard anymore. Download the form, fill it in, take two decent photos and go to the passport office. Then wait however long it takes for the new one to arrive.
It's a 6 hour round trip for me from Korat. A pain but bearable.
@Ajarncom My sister-in-law does this often travelling between Ubon and Chiang Mai.
She also sometimes sends the old clothes home and fills the suitcase with new clothes!
@keene_chemistry Here's a new tool you don't want and don't need. While we are telling you there's no money to fix the SQUID, XRD etc, we just blew €50k on a tool no one uses and doesn't have the benefits intended.
A new video in my serious about crystal structure refinement just dropped: disorder of COT radical anion about symmetry element! I recently collected data for this samplea and thought it's quite good for teaching purposes. https://t.co/Pb07eJx9PU
@PravitR I certainly saw the TMD post warnings on FB urging people not to treat the 23-27 September period as normal heavy rain and be prepared.
It is true I didn’t see specific guidelines on what being prepared meant though.
@Andrew_S_Rosen@ChemRxiv I suppose that’s one good thing about my field (mol magnetism) you’ve got to make the compounds to determine their properties.
