The implementation of #5DayBankingNow cannot remain caught between acknowledgment and action. The understanding was formally recorded, and bankers have continued to deliver consistently amid increasing operational and digital demands.

With banking services now functioning 24×7 through digital channels, the pressure on human resources has only intensified. Despite this, the agreed outcome of a five-day workweek remains unimplemented.
Bankers have honoured the settlement in both letter and spirit every working day. Policy commitments deserve the same seriousness in execution.
Assurances are meaningful only when translated into outcomes. It is time to move from intent to implementation, and from files to facts.

Digital India has reduced 60–70% cash counters, but not reduced banker workload — a clear mismatch.
▶️ Mobile + UPI handle 90% of routine banking, yet staff are stuck in old schedules with modern pressure.
▶️ 6-day work = 47% more stress + 62% burnout, harming the people who keep digital payments running smoothly.
▶️ A shift to 5-Day Banking saves ₹5,000 crore (equal to 28+ operational days) — funds that can power digital infra, cybersecurity, and customer service.
▶️ Better work-life balance directly improves the Human Happiness Index — because healthy employees deliver better digital and physical service.
▶️ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐲: India’s digital economy is lightning fast, but its bankers still don’t get a two-day recharge. Digital India deserves digital-era work culture.

The government’s stance on #5DayBanking is like a disappearing act—first, they ‘principally agreed,’ and now, they’ve forgotten! Today’s CLC meeting brought no concrete decision, no positive outcome—so the strike stands firm!

A heartfelt thanks to CPI Kerala MP @Sandosh_CPI Ji for raising this crucial issue in #RajyaSabha. When Policymakers acknowledge our demands, it strengthens our cause. But it’s ironic—those entrusted with leading the #Banking fraternity remain cautious, while a Member of Parliament speaks up for us!

Bankers are the backbone of the economy, yet #5daybanking remains a distant dream. Add to that the unresolved issues of PLI discrimination and unfair recruitment. Words of assurance don’t run a banking system—decisive action does!
