The second convening of the 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐀𝐂𝐓) - an initiative by @Prajafoundation & Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (@ylacofficial), hosted by us and supported by @Nagarro - brought together partners from @GuruJalGurugram,@safetipin_, @KPMGIndia, @Gurgaon_First, @sehreeti1, Gurgaon Ki Awaaz, Lung Care Foundation, FitBuds, @Purpose , @I_Am_Gurgaon and many others yesterday.

All of us walked through the two complete streets of Sector 18, Gurgaon - 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐨. 7 - and glimpsed the Sarhaul community. The conversations circled around one core idea:➡️ Cities become 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 and 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 when communities shape what is built for them.

At the @Nagarro office, participants watched 𝑬𝒌 𝑺𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒌 𝑲𝒊 𝑲𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒊, reflecting on what safety, inclusion, equality, and visibility mean on a busy urban street.
Key perspectives:
• Dr. @MuktaNaik, Ph.D., Urban planner and policy researcher, highlighted how urban villages are unique, mixed-use spaces central to Gurgaon’s identity.
• 𝐑𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐞 (@safetipin_ ) pointed out how rapidly changing urban-village dynamics often leave women and young girls underserved.
• @ShubhiKesarwani, Co-Founder-CEO of @GuruJalGurugram shared data on Sarhaul’s water stress - water table dipping to 72m, 80% water wasted, stormwater not captured.
• 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 (@prajafoundation) emphasized the need for better coordination across 10–12 ward committees.

We were glad to have 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐭𝐢 𝐘𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐯 (𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝 18, Gurgaon), who raised the critical issue of legacy waste - with ₹350 crore spent annually without meaningful reduction.

It was a deeply enriching convening, and also a reminder that Gurgaon’s transformation depends on 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.
