The Board of the Australian Evaluation Society welcomes the commitment the Australian Government has made to establish a central evaluation function and appreciates the role that @ALeighMP has played in this significant achievement.
Sharing Sri Lanka's journey towards institutionalizing evaluation would be highly beneficial for other countries looking to adopt similar strategies. It would be a valuable resource for development practitioners, and stakeholders seeking to enhance their evaluation frameworks.
@msegone, Director of @unfpa_eval: This week is impt not only for SL but at the global level as well. Each country has to find their way to succeed, but there are many elements that can be learnt from SL.

This approach is commonly known as "teach them how to fish instead of giving them fish" which aimed at providing long-term solutions rather than short-trm fixes. unfrtntly many organisations still focus on short-trm solutions that prove 2 be ineffective in the long run. Kudos2IOM

Smart Afghan company produces thousands of tires for children's tricycles every month.
“I used to work in a tire production company in Pakistan. After I returned, I started my own business with IOM’s support,” said Mousa.
Despite the difficult situation in Afghanistan, there is still hope for progress. FAO's real-time monitoring of emergency programs will help to ensure successful and timely implementation while keeping the institutionalization of evaluation over the past 20 years alive.
Effective monitoring ensures successful & timely project implementation, especially in emergency settings.
We trained 25 Field Monitoring Associates from 7 provinces in Jalalabad on FAO programmes & data collection to perform real-time monitoring of our implementation progress.
Sri Lanka's institutionalization of Eval is a remarkable achievement that has global significance. And inspirations for other countries2prioritize evaluation in their development strategies. Their lessons learned can help other countries efficiently implement similar strategies.

A weak theory of change can't fight poverty, hunger, and climate change. We need to develop effective approachs and take accountability for our actions. Collective efforts are required towards lasting change and a better future for all.
Strong Theory of Change = strong development programs. Without a clear and robust ToC, programs may miss the mark and waste resources.

Having personally benefited a lot from Prof. Stockmann's guidance during my studies. His feedback on my term papers was particularly helpful, and I'm sure those attending the training today gained a lot from his presentation.
Happy to see you organising events like this.
Happening today at the 'Better Policy Making Through Evaluations - Part II' Training for #Parliaments in #AsiaPacific

It is splendid to learn of these findings. I would like to inquire if you conducted an evaluation of the water sector as a single assignment. If so, I am keen to know the methodology and evaluation techniques utilized in your study.
This video encapsulates how IED's #evaluation of the #watersector takes stock of progress made this last decade, to identify lessons & propose directions for ADB’s engagement in strengthening #watersecurity & reducing risks to the region’s population.
