@AmericanAir You're admitting this only after I found out about it independently and posted about it. None of your agents directed me to Customer Relations, and I have a DM with AA where your agents told me I'm not eligible for compensation.
After filing a complaint about my canceled flight, Customer Relations confirmed I'm eligible for compensation under EU regulations — contradicting every @AmericanAir agent I'd spoken to, including those on @X
Read the fine print and persist! I'll share an update once resolved 🙂
@HalderAlaka@AmericanAir If you would be willing to share, I would love to know their response. I was involuntarily downgraded on the second leg of a round trip international flight and @AmericanAir only offered me about $200.
This is a great chart for why we should look at things like productivity and not “shipping” for signals of AI-driven economic acceleration. The former is a function of what people value enough to actually spend money on, the latter could be a proxy for it…but not necessarily.
@AmericanAir DMed. Post-cancellation, the DFW desk asked me to use https://t.co/y0AMge8Iq2 or chat (app), which asked me to call, which asked me to chat, which asked me to go to the gate agent, who asked me to call. Then I missed the flight out of D38
I need to know how to get a final answer
✈️ @AmericanAir How do I find out how much I'll be reimbursed when the 3rd leg of an international flight is cancelled? You stranded me in DFW and I had to cancel as the next available seat to AUS was 24h away. At that point, Southwest, a bus, or a car were better options.
@AmericanAir P.S. I'd have been home if auto-rebooking worked. Instead AA sent a plane to AUS with empty seats out of D38. I found out from an agent on the phone (after 30min of being shuttled btwn support channels). She got me a seat while I ran but the gate closed 2 min before I arrived
The fun never ends, and by fun I mean combatting the people and orgs worldwide ready to feast on your parents and grandparents until they are picked clean. Come hear horror stories that will hopefully save you and yours time, money and heartache https://t.co/JM3Is73jFo
Elder care in the United States and beyond can be an odyssey of malpractice and fraud.
@NancyRomm's new blog about this is moving and eye-opening.
Hosted by @HalderAlaka she's joining an Interintellect salon to discuss it with us all: https://t.co/58UErfmMm8
My dear friend Paige Harden and I both have new books out, and both are about crime & punishment — but from different (though still evidence-based) perspectives. I’m an economist. She’s a behavioral geneticist. We both grapple with the age-old question of what to do with people who’ve done bad things, guided by the best, cutting-edge evidence from our respective fields.
I think our books are very much in conversation - and so we had a conversation about them! Recorded, of course. It’s the latest episode of @ProbCausation - check it out! (Links to the episode and both our books are below.)
@JenShahade@interintellect_ We really loved the conversation and were so lucky to have you! You've inspired me to try chess again after almost 20 years ❤️ Congrats again on the book!!
🧭 Great discussion of Thinking Sideways with @JenShahade, three-time National Chess Champion, on @interintellect_ tonight!
Recap and recording coming soon.
(Jen was kind enough to send me the international edition because I love the cover!)
🧠♟️ Join @JenShahade and me for an @interintellect_ salon on Tue, March 31 (8pm ET) to discuss her new book Thinking Sideways — how to take chess strategies off the board and apply them to everyday decision-making.

@_sneck_@austinenergy@GetSpectrum@Ask_Spectrum If this is true, why blame it on @austinenergy and say "your power company as not provided an estimate for when power will be restored"? It doesn't help at all with maintaining customers' trust
Case in point: @GetSpectrum outage since 9pm last night. They’re blaming it on an Austin Energy outage in my area but I checked the map — which is reliable — and there are no outages. What gives?

How does @GetSpectrum retain any business in Austin? Constant outages, steep rate hikes, zero flexibility, and competition from better, cheaper options like Google Fiber. I’m excited to drop Spectrum in April!
