How to become expert at thing:
1 iteratively take on concrete projects and accomplish them depth wise, learning “on demand” (ie don’t learn bottom up breadth wise)
2 teach/summarize everything you learn in your own words
3 only compare yourself to younger you, never to others
Great thread and visualizations @jeffkortenbosch🧠⚡️
Adding 2 points:
1. Start by documenting your current skills in a structured way - many can‘t actually list their skills
2. Communicate skill gaps, your desire to close them, and how you want to close them during interviews
Here’s what I’ve learned about building skills and how skills shape your career.
A visual thread (1/11) 🧵
1. Degrees don’t age well. Your current skills and skill level tell organizations more about your real value.

We are revamping our KPI management dashboard and making it more visible to the entire team. Also doing a small internal study to extend some missing metrics. Will post key outcome on what we track and why in the next few weeks.
Started the year with some prep work for our next big customer go-Live in February. Also, we’ve been stepping up our recruiting game in the past few weeks: Substantial team growth and some redesigning of the team structure are #1 on the internal agenda for 2020.
2019 was next level in the ceo learning journey @cobainer: In a huge effort by our team and cofounders we redefined the company’s core focus, rebuilt and rebranded our product completely from scratch, and achieved PMF - all in 7 months. I’m truly grateful and excited for 2020!
Starting New Decade’s resolution early. Will try to use twitter as a means if communication - rather than *just* being my #1 place for news. Let’s see how it goes - first step: 1 tweet per day for the next 26 weeks.
Thanks for every large and small contribution that made 2019 an amazing year for Cobrainer! We're excited and humbled to continue our mission to manage and empower talent for people and organizations in the new decade !
Let's get started! 🙌🥳🎇🎆🧠⚡️
