Today the Islamic Republic of Iran essentially declared that Donald Trump is too mentally deranged and pathologically deceitful to negotiate with... so they won't.
And you know what? They're right. That's a normal, rational, adult position.
So why don't we see it inside the US?
Giora Eiland is one of Israel's most senior strategic thinkers and was war an adviser to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. From the war's first weeks he publicly argued that "Israel has no choice but to make Gaza a place that is temporarily, or permanently, impossible to live in," and that "severe epidemics in the south of the Gaza Strip will bring victory closer and reduce casualties among IDF soldiers." There is substantial evidence this approach was adopted:
1) He was inside the government while advocating it. Eiland served as an official wartime adviser to Defense Minister Gallant.
2) A security-cabinet minister endorsed his epidemics op-ed verbatim. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich tweeted the full November 2023 article, saying he "agreed with every word."
3) Netanyahu personally weighed the Generals' Plan. He told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on September 22, 2024 he was considering it; reportedly said it "made sense"; and 27 coalition MKs signed a letter urging that it be adopted.
4) Israeli officials admitted partial implementation. In October 2024, one official told the AP "parts of the plan are already being implemented"; another confirmed Netanyahu had "read and studied" it.
5) The northern Gaza siege matched the plan step for step. During the 2014 war, Eiland published a piece calling to "bring to a full stop the supplies from Israel to Gaza, not only of electricity and fuel, but also of food and water," because "a state cannot simultaneously attack and feed the enemy." That is exactly what happened.
6) The commander running the operation, Brig. Gen. Itzik Cohen said in November 2024 that northern residents would "not be allowed to return" and aid wouldn't enter because there were "no more civilians left," Eiland's combatant-presumption, from the commander running the operation.
7) Leaked cabinet minutes show blockade chosen as a method of war after Eiland suggested it. On March 18 Israel sealed the crossings and cut all aid, that 11-week total blockade that ended in the IPC's first-ever famine declaration for Gaza in August 2025.
8) The doctrine originated inside the state from Eiland himself. As serving NSC chief in 2004 he called Gaza "a huge concentration camp" and proposed transferring its population to Sinai; the Intelligence Ministry's October 2023 concept paper revived that proposal on government letterhead.
9) Eiland's plan turned on water ("People will not be able to live there. The water will dry up"). Human Rights Watch's December 2024 investigation Extermination and Acts of Genocide concluded Israeli authorities deliberately deprived Gaza's population of water amounting to the crime against humanity of extermination.
10) A UN inquiry found a "concerted policy to destroy Gaza's healthcare system." The UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in October 2024 that Israel carried out "relentless and deliberate attacks on medical personnel and facilities," amounting to war crimes and the crime against humanity of extermination.
11) HRW documented that Israeli forces destroyed 70% of sewage pumps and all of Gaza's wastewater treatment plants, leaving 340,000 tons of waste accumulating beside encampments — "the perfect environment for diseases like polio to spread"
12) The predicted epidemics arrived on schedule. Polio returned to Gaza in July 2024 after 25 years detected first in the sewage of Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah, exactly where the wastewater collapse was worst
13) Palestinian health researcher Yara Asi, in Jewish Currents' analysis of what it called the "epidemiological war": clustering a population while denying water, sanitation, and medical care produces disease spread: "if you wanted to [spread disease], you would do exactly what Israel is doing"
14) South Africa's ICJ application quotes Eiland as intent evidence; the ICC's warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant charge starvation as a method of warfare; the UN Commission of Inquiry found genocide, citing systematic aid obstruction.
Because the plan is such a blatant war crime, and what Eiland recommended such a clear form of genocide, it was never formally adopted. But the evidence is clear, Gaza was turned into a humanitarian disaster that is unlivable and Israel has refused any aid to help improve the situation. Israel intentionally created plagues, diseases, starvation and death in Gaza to make it unlivable. It was literally part of the military plan.
This man on the left is Jacobo Árbenz. On the right is Abdul El-Sayed. El-Sayed has gotten me to thinking about Árbenz. Here's why.
Árbenz is the former President of Guatemala from 1951 to 1954.
At the time, Guatemala was one of the poorest countries in the world. The average wages were around $20 per year.
By comparison, the impoverished African American community in America was making 40-times as much. And this was the precursor to the war on poverty.
One company, the United Fruit Company (now known as Chiquita), dominated the entire Guatemalan economy. It owned most of the railroads, roads, telegraph equipment, and so on.
The UFC was actually worth more money (about $500 million--or $7 billion in today's standard--than the entire Guatemalan GDP.
So it's not like they couldn't afford to pay their workers more. They jsut chose not to. Where else were workers going to go?
So Arbanz decided to do something about it. A good chunk of Guatemala's land was owned by the UFC, but not farmed. It was just sitting there.
Apart from that, the UFC claimed it was worth a lot less than it actually was.
Arbanz's plan was simple. Buy the land for what the UFC said it was worth, and then provide loans to citizens at a reasonable rate so they could have their own farms and reduce poverty.
Well now. This wasn't sitting too well with UFC. So they went and talked to their good buddies John Foster Dulles and Allen Dulles, who ran U.S. foreign policy during the 1950s. President Dwight Eisenhower appointed John Foster as Secretary of State and Allen as Director of the CIA.
Now, they both had strong financial ties to the UFC, but exactly how much is in dispute. But they definitely were connected.
John Foster Dulles, Eisenhower's Secretary of State, had been a senior partner at the powerful law firm Sullivan & Cromwell.
United Fruit was a client of Sullivan & Cromwell, and the firm performed legal work for UFC. John Foster Dulles personally worked on matters involving the company, including agreements connected to its operations in Guatemala.
His brother Allen Dulles, Eisenhower's CIA director during the 1954 coup, had also been a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell.
He therefore came from the same law firm as his brother with the United Fruit relationship. There are some reports that he was on the UFC board, but I can't verify that.
It went the other way too, with a former President of the UFC, Thomas Corcoran, and his relative, John Moors Cabot, connected to the Eisenhower Administration.
So, to put it mildly, there was certainly more than a little bit of conflict of interest.
So when Árbenz got elected, the Dulles brothers got to couping. Literally.
They claimed Árbenz was a Communist. He wasn't.
He was just a danger to unfettered and unregulated capitalism.
The United States, through the Dulles brothers, sponsored a coup that ended with Arbanz dead and Carlos Castillo Armas in charge. Armas was a despot who ruled until he got assassinated three years later.
And by then, Guatemala's democracy was destroyed, and they descended into a 36-year civil war that has more than a little to do with why we still have people from Guatemala requesting asylum.
So the moral of the story is that when rich white uber-wealthy Americans start screaming that a brown person is a communist because he is challenging unfettered Capitalism.
Pay attention.
Things might not be what they say they are.
Homburg schreibt:
Stefan Homburg macht eben Homburg-Sachen.

I regret to inform you Peter Thiel’s Nazi blogger Curtis Yarvin has a new slab of insufferable dreck about how to overthrow the U.S. government. Apparently, Trump is just not monarch-y enough.
The plan:
1. Make everything SUCK so bad we’re all nihilists begging for daddy.
2. Build a literal secret society—a “honeycomb” of sekrit elites in “the cadre” who create an alt-society ready to spring into power when the institutions all fall at once. This will be “anonymous” and super crypto and full of AI gadgets built by Urbit or whatever.
3. Create a “spark” that allows a single person, a dictator-monarch-CEO to turn “the cadre” honeycomb thing into the operational arms of his autocracy.
4. Destroy all the lib/woke stuff and make them all suffer for their woke crimes.
5. Rejoice in handing over all our freedoms to some guy—but definitely not Trump because he’s not hardcore enough.
This is basically the same idea as any number of accelerationist neo-Nazi terrorist cults.
@curtis_yarvin it took you ten months to come up with this shit?
This idea is two paragraphs, tops. I’m angry I had to read all this masturbatory midwittery before you remotely came to the point.

Jon Ossoff: “There’s something uniquely despicable about lying a nation into war. Treating citizens as fools and the selfless patriots who serve as pawns. Earlier this year, they claimed there was an imminent nuclear threat after last year they told us they had obliterated that threat. Both times lies. On day 12 of this war, the president said we won. On day 14, Secretary Hegseth said Iran’s military was destroyed. Five months later, we’re still bombing, Americans are still dying, Iran still has its uranium, the Strait of Hormuz is still closed. I challenge anyone to defend this. A war built on lies told by a White House that is utterly absent any figures of integrity to dissuade this president from his delusions”
