@WoodEcology Thanks! Got off to a bit of a shaky start after 36 hours of flight delays, luggage ending up on the wrong plane and arriving at start camp at 3am (4 hours before the start!) but having a lot of fun now! Yeah afternoons are pretty warm but the mornings have a chill
@WoodEcology Running 220km in 6 days, from Berat to Butrint (which has an amazing amphitheatre ruin). I've been to Albania twice before and think it's massively underrated as a holiday destination!
GREAT NEWS! @consbioafrica is going to be translated into French! Are you a French-speaking African conservationist interested in this translation opportunity, which is paid with the potential of becoming an author? Then send your cover letter + resume to [email protected]
@astro__will@declanfleming If that's not available in the field of primary research of those projects, maybe you could try looking at education journals instead to see if they have more flexible article types?
@astro__will@declanfleming In the wildlife conservation field there's some journals that accept practitioner perspective-type papers, which are focused on sharing lessons learned and don't need to be as rigourously analytical. Don't know if that's found in other disciplines too.
Raising a glass of merlot or three to Grandpa this evening. Thanks to the new-fangled internet (which can never be a replacement for letters that take 13 weeks to arrive (or not) from distant shores) I was able to feel a part of proceedings. What ho G'pa, it has been a pleasure.
Such sad news. I very much welcomed the interest and support Jim showed when I was part of the team researching the collector Mary Greg (1859-1949), a Guild of St George benefactor. Incredible knowledge! His astute observations were much appreciated. Deepest condolences indeed.
Full Interview with Ruskin scholar James S. Dearden conducted by Howard ... https://t.co/Q8ItcA0hOZ via @YouTube. This is precious. Jim Dearden is in fabulous form. Little did we know that five months later Jim would no longer be with us. Enjoy this treasure!
With enormous sadness we record the death of the deeply admired Ruskin scholar, author & former Master of the Guild, Jim Dearden. We send our deepest condolences to his family & friends around the world, and thank him for his 70+ years of service to Ruskin
