The last few months have been very kind, enabling myself and colleagues from all over the 🌍 to collaborate and share a multitude of research projects 📊
#VBT research is coming along nicely! Key points and links to all recent publications within this thread 👇
Great to see the proofs for our new article “Coach’s guide to VBT” in @NSCASCJonline. This outlines definitions and methods of testing with practical guidance for coaches to implement straight away. Huge thanks to the team for their vital input 🏋️🏋🏼♀️

@Scott_Damman Complete agree with you here @Scott_Damman - lots of devices now available, so make sure you’re picking the one that meets your / your squads requirements and can be seamlessly integrated (another often overlooked factor). Will you be at the @NSCA Nat Con in July?
We are delighted that 84% of the School's research was classified as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent' in the Research Excellence Framework results released today. Thank you to all from the School and wider university who contribute to/support our research. #REF2021

group VBT protocols vs customised to the individual.
Both made pretty good progress, but if it’s available to you individualisation is the way to go. Something we are looking to integrate into the metric app as we build.
@RiccardoRambo@VBTcoach It’s important to note, they only received an audio cue from the GymAware - nothing else. That’s the only difference, and really is the whole point of the study. “VBT” facilitates the additional feedback that other training methods don’t offer.
@RiccardoRambo@VBTcoach Happy to answer any questions @RiccardoRambo. For clarity, all athletes received the same instruction prior to lifting, and all athletes received the same encouragement during lifting - only the VBT group received an audio cue (bing) if they hit or missed the target velocity 1/2
@jmc3147 @VBTcoach So the VBT “zones” were specific to that training group - none of the manufacturer velocity based zones you see were used as these were deemed too wide and too general. We essentially created our own “zones” based off the training groups LVP
