Anyone after a sweet F3 year in Yorkshire with @HullYorkMed? I love my job; I get experience in teaching, help towards paying for a pgcert in med ed, it's flexible for holidays and clinical work, it's within a great team, honestly the list goes on..

Despite the lake like puddles, and thus having wet feet all day, I've had such a lovely day.
Fascinating clinical reasoning tutorial this morning, very impressed with the 4th years.
Good feedback from two sources, has been very morale boosting. Give good feedback peeps!
We could start by challenging the assumption that all medical students have a financial safety net to fall into, and acknowledging the systemic disadvantages faced by poorer students & doctors as they progress through their career @a_c_harvey @1994_declan https://t.co/pmMK4lNNNe
I'm grateful to all my @stanford professors who taught HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I've met plenty of docs who clearly were only taught what to think, and when presented with new research and treatments, they seem as lost as a mariner in a fog without any charts.

Huge lack of info on clitoral function in gynae textbooks. Is it cos they’re mainly written by men, no research’s been done, or eds didn’t identify the gap? I see a follow-up to your excellent @medicalwomenuk prize-winning study @LauraGi98183324@youngMWIA@womeninmedchat
Daughter 1 just resuscitated man who collapsed in gym this morning. She later introduced herself as a Doc (Med reg). Then this happens:
Also despite introducing myself as a doctor... at the end the gym guy said ‘it’s so good there was a nurse on hand to help’

Encourage others to apply for jobs, opportunities and awards.
Nudge them to step forward and highlight their talents to them.
Help them overcome their imposter syndrome.

Few months back I claimed for 5 years of GMC fees, indemnity fees, union fees and post-grad exams via the HMRC website. Took a while because they needed some clarification but today I came home to a cheque for £3,361
If you haven’t claimed, it’s easy to do and well worth it!
Fascinating talk by @andy4msf organised @hullmedicalsoc
Thank goodness brave people like Andy can maintain compassionate care in the gap between high and low income countries.
Lovely to see a few @HullYorkMed first years at this talk in their second week. Get inspired!
