@BiggestComeback@StevenQuartz I agree with Steven’s first sentence but also your point Chris that the biggest flaw in the guidelines is the deemphasis of protein.
Really wish they upped the guidelines to something reasonable like 0.8/lb vs the current recommendation of minimum required to live
@mikeoniron Especially if you’re exercising not sure you’re going to get enough electrolytes (sodium) from beef / eggs alone?
A normal amount of salt is helpful but yeah all the ridiculous levels of salt is silly
@raphaels7@drmikehart@BioLayne Right it’s important that people understand that IF works by reducing people’s calories rather than some magical insulin effect
Believing the latter can lead to people fearing eating at certain times or cramming food into their eating window
@KenDBerryMD The sugar is still sugar but the they are right that fruit comes with fiber and poly phenols that poptarts do not
Nothing to fear with fruit
@ketosavage Fruit, beans, lentils, vegetables, oatmeal, potatoes
Swap the ribeye for a leaner cut of beef or chicken. Swap the butter for olive oil. Cut the bacon.
@Chris_NYY28 Rizzo had a negative WAR this year and now is going to play through fractured fingers I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want faster guys who had good at bats in the ALDS to play over him
@BiggestComeback@ZKForTre@theproof If this is in regards to the depression post.
Obviously eating healthier will, on a population level, tend to improve depression symptoms.
The issue is when groups claim a particular diet “cures” cures depression and people replace seeing a therapist with that diet
@KenDBerryMD You don’t need any amount of saturated fat in your diet. It is Not an essential nutrient.
Difference is intake of fiber correlates to positive health outcomes and SFA to negative ones
@BiggestComeback Which foods you eat has a lot to do with how many calories you eat over the long term which has everything to do with your long term fat storage ;)
