I'm a human being, a citizen of a world in which we are all dependent on each other, a world in which we need a greater sense of concern for the welfare of others. Wherever I go I like to meet members of the public so I can share these ideas with them.
@AndrewPulrang Disabled Americans for Yang community discussed this, there are many complex contributing factors.
- lack of UBI stacking fix
- semantics vs intent
- scarcity mindset
- disabled people have diverse experiences & views
- SSI/SSDI means tests do not = ♿ benefits for all
@YesAnastasia13 @AndrewPulrang The UBI policy doesn't misunderstand the difference, but is unable to stack on SSDI without changes to the existing restrictions of SSDI. Those changes are needed but can't be included in a UBI policy. Medical policies should be created to bundle with UBI to avoid a problem.
Today is #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay! Many tools we use widely today started out as assistive technology for people with disabilities— including curb cuts, Siri and voice dictation, spell check, autocorrect, and more. #GAAD
Sailing into the weekend on Lake Washington plus shadows creeping up Mount Rainier in the fading light of Friday evening. Plenty of sailing time and views of Mount Rainier this weekend. Highs in the upper 60s and 70s over the interior. Cooler coast with lower to mid 60s. #wawx
