Just in time for Christmas … my contributor copy of Spelt 11. 🎄
So honoured to have my poetry film 'The Caged Oak Waits' & interview with @helen_dewbery featured in this final print issue.
@MagazineSpelt 🙏🏻
@maryfordneal I’m not surprised. As someone who has been ‘surrounded’ by suicide and suicide ideation the language around ‘assisted dying’ is very stressful.
‘ The state should never offer death as a service.” The right to die, for some, will – inexorably and inevitably – become the duty to die for others…’

Given that we know that coercive control is something insidious and manipulative and that people often don’t realise they have been victims until years later, the Assisted Dying Bill is an enormous threat to vulnerable people. There are no adequate safeguards here.
Wonderful to see @charlottschreu continue to use her experience and voice to fight for change. It's been a true pleasure to work alongside her for @OpenJustice4All. Have a read to hear her story, see the aims of the campaign, and find out how to access court transcripts now 👇
