The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation’s reply to Honourable MP @PWilsonDMK in the Rajya Sabha confirms that the Government of India granted ‘In-Principle’ approval for the #Parandur Greenfield International #Airport on 07.04.2025, based on TIDCO’s proposal.
This is yet another affirmation that the #DravidianModel Government under the leadership of the then Honourable Chief Minister @mkstalin meticulously secured every statutory and stage-wise approval required to make #Chennai’s long-awaited ***dual independent runway*** Greenfield International Airport a reality. 🛫
Tamil Nadu cannot afford to mortgage its future to political grandstanding.
Chennai urgently needs a 5,000+ acre next generation aviation hub with two “independent parallel” 4000Mtrs+ CodeF runways (not intersecting runways like Meenambakam which curtails runway capacity with lengths of 3600+Mtrs Code4E and 2000+Mtrs Code 3C ), MRO facilities, cargo terminals, aerospace industries, logistics parks, hotels and some room for future expansion.
The site was chosen after extensive technical evaluation, balancing aviation requirements, connectivity, future scalability and minimising overall social and environmental impact.
The #DravidianModel Government recognised the pain and angst of the affected villages and designed one of India’s most comprehensive rehabilitation and compensation packages to ensure affected families receive the best possible support while enabling a project that will benefit generations to come.
Every responsible political party must rise above short-term politics and support transformational infrastructure that will shape Tamil Nadu’s future. Every decision on critical infrastructure must ultimately be guided by science, technical expertise and the long-term interests of Tamil Nadu.
It is deeply unfortunate that a project of such strategic importance now stands clouded by uncertainty, with the Government maintaining silence while media reports speculate that it has been abandoned.
Our State deserves consensus, not political obstruction.

@amitmalviya@nitin_gadkari I don’t giving understand, why do we even want to make Sugarcane farmers rich?
They get enough subsidies already, pulling the states economy down for a long time.

@ManikPrabh5134@_Adithya1 Debt is well under control. Debt to GDP ratio of TN is 26%, whereas KA is 25% and KL is 39%. We have strong manufacturing based economy and have seen horizontal development across TN and had double digit growth. Buddy just because you hate TN, it doesn’t mean it is doing bad.
@ManikPrabh5134@_Adithya1 Buddy nobody cares about bankrupt neighbour and immigrant city neighbour calm the fk down. I would advice you take a hard look near you and at you. Or keep living in delusion as long as you want 🤡.

@ManikPrabh5134@_Adithya1 Coming rich from mallus who makes a living by exploiting other states & depends on tourist money. GDP & PCI datas are accurate and from reliable source. And finally who the fk cares about what mallus & kundigays thinks about Tamil. Gtfo here weird ass bruh.
