New York is making strides in #CannabisJustice and ensuring the communities most harmed by criminalization benefit from legalization. That progress is greatly due to advocates like Emily Marie Ramos Rodríguez, co-founder of worker co-op @HighMiMadre.

@nycpa@expungementwork@nycworker Thank you soul much! We appreciate you and all the support you’ve given us and cooperatives in NYC! May we plant the seeds of marijuana coops all over our beloved city ❤️🔥🌻🌈
In night court now. 57-year-old man sent to Rikers on $2,000 bail for possession of a small amount of heroin. The COVID rate there is nearly 20%. The City will pay over $6,000 for him to be incarcerated over MLK weekend. And DOC probably won’t bring him to court on Tuesday.
✊🏾#SpotifyWrapped https://t.co/XCp8kkW63s
@Adolfo4Council Gracias 💚 we appreciate you 🙌🏾 NY has a lot of work to do to ensure the regulations put in place protect us from investors in other states and countries looking to enter and profit off of our market. We need a moratorium on licensing for equity and legacy folks. ¡Pa’lante! ✊🏾
3/ NYS & NYC must invest in union jobs & worker ownership for Black & Brown folks. Womyn & femme coops like @HighMiMadre have been leading the fight for legalization & building the alternative.
The wealth this reform creates belongs with our people, not the pockets of the rich.
People have died so Puerto Rico could see a day of freedom and liberty again and the best y'all could do was this ugly ass bill that doesn't talk about the #JONESACT?
THIS IS WHY THINGS LIKE ACT 60, ACT 22, AND ACT 20 EXIST; por estupideces como el JONES ACT.

Did you know Puerto Rico has no control over its ports? Even during times of humanitarian needs, we cannot receive help from the international community. Why? Because of the Jones Act! Congress simply needs to remove PR from it! #NoJonesActForPR#JonesAct#JonesAct100years
Racism and white supremacy have kept Puerto Rico a colony.
Those seeking annexation are ignoring the repression and murder of many who fought to liberate the island.
Let’s be clear. They seek statehood for their own gains, because this is NOT what Boricuas VOTED FOR.
We don’t support this bill. It is important to have context.
#PuertoRicans did not vote in favor of statehood.
This bill is being used to impose a status decision rather than allow Puerto Ricans to decide.
Similar to how US citizenship was imposed.
