Did you know that the famous #kashivishwanath temple in #Varanasi was rebuilt by the Queen of Malwa, Ahilyabai Holkar? The Maratha queen rebuilt the temple in 1780, almost 100 years after it was destroyed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

@___Enryuu___ @ShriVishwanath @uptourismgov Correct. Rani Ahilyabai rebuilt the structure at the same complex where the original temple stood. And the structure that she got built is the present Kashi Vishwanath temple. Thanks for sharing the additional info. :)
