Somalia's opposition is so foolish that it chose to attack the government on the one thing Somalis actually agree on: Türkiye's support for Somalia.

They went as far as paying people to burn Turkish flags, trying to fake an anti-Türkiye mood that doesn't exist.

The answer came today. Tens of thousands of real Somalis filled the streets with Turkish flags in their hands, standing with Türkiye.

One lesson here: the worst thing you can do to Somalis is treat them as fools. Don't make that mistake, not even with your own people. For many Somalis, Türkiye is a red line.

God, why have we been given politicians too stupid to grasp even this simple truth?
