implemented Volumetric Light Scattering in my project! It's dynamically driven by the skybox. Check out the great docs from Babylon.js I used: https://t.co/YCR36ohaIB #gamedev#BabylonJS#graphics#lighting
@AshConnell If you use thin instances, the entire card will block transparent objects behind it from view. Discard lets other transparent objects through correctly. Mostly it just took me too long to find the correct shading setup for thin instances, and this was the key piece I was missing.
added trees, bushes, and more efficient grass. using alpha cards with a custom Babylon.js shader.
important to add the following to your fragment shader:
if (gl_FragColor.a < 0.5) {
discard;
}

@AshConnell Haha thank you I appreciate it! I was also curious how you setup those great looking shadows at the bottom of the grass card. Maybe an ambient occlusion pass?
Really great job, the movement on the grass makes it feel alive. Doesn't even feel like you're looking at a grass card.
