The thing I’m wrestling with lately is that this seems to be the life cycle of a Black woman raising any concern:
1. Disbelief no matter what evidence I show.
2. Dismissal of the concern and generic platitudes.
3. Being left isolated.
4. When people realize you were correct they expect you to teach them all about it. But for free though because your experience should be riches enough.
It’s a lot to take in and I’m wearing out. But even though I’m saying that right on this post ya’ll will jump right into this cycle. So let me prepare for platitudes.
📣We’re recruiting!📣
Looking for a number of roles to join our team, across a temporary and permanent basis. This includes Essay markers (application deadline 11th April⚠️), a Treasurer, and Anthology designer.
Microaggressions & systemic racism manifest in many ways. The idea that white is right & whiteness = professionalism coupled with hypervisibility and racialized micromanagement - not trusting that something can be done just as well a different way is harmful and exhausting. 8/8
Ever thought about joining the ThinkingBlack team? 🖤
We are currently hiring for the following roles: Secretary, ACT Essay Prize module leaders and programme managers.

Metadata can quietly limit your visibility in the digital age
It's only now I've started programming that I appreciate how up to date and properly formatted metadata can be the difference between being seen and unseen online
Sometimes I find planning, documenting and communicating product requirements in software projects challenging as a junior developer ✍️
This explanation of the differences between incremental and iterative development is one of the most useful I’ve found
