I was honored to host Zach Shemper, President of Beth Israel, at last week's Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism meeting.

Beth Israel, the recent target of an arson that destroyed much of the historic synagogue, is tragically all too familiar with this type of hate. In 1967, this synagogue was the victim of a bombing by the KKK.

As we continue to battle rising antisemitism, we discussed the urgent need to dramatically increase funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program and passage of the Pray Safe Act.

We must realize that hate against one is hate against all and unite together to fight it.

The ADL’s newly released audit reveals a historic surge in antisemitism across the US.

In 2024, we saw the highest number of antisemitic incidents since the ADL began tracking.

Last week, I spent time with lawmakers in DC to discuss the urgent need to combat antisemitism and protect our communities. I met with @ChuckGrassley, @BillCassidy, @JohnFetterman and @RepRaskin - leaders on both sides of the aisle committed to fighting hate. I also met with the @HouseBTFCA to discuss the latest findings of @ADL's 2024 Audit of Antisemitic Incidents.

That same week, two young, innocent people - Sarah and Yaron z"l - were targeted for attending a Jewish organization's event and murdered in our nation's capital.

We’re grateful to the Members standing with the Jewish community and taking action to confront antisemitism when it matters most. And let's be clear: it matters most now.
