Even by Trump Administration standards, Bill Pulte is totally unqualified to be DNI. He has no relevant experience and his sole qualification is unconditional devotion to Donald Trump. Since there will be no senate confirmation (of course), it is critical that Pulte go through a full security clearance process before he walks into the building.
Very happy to be back in Kyiv with @SenBlumenthal to see President Zelenskyy and reiterate our support for the remarkable people of Ukraine as they stand against the criminal attacks of Vladimir Putin.
Ranking Member Jim Himes: It’s hard to arrive at any conclusion other than the fact that due to the political toxicity of this war President Trump has just surrendered.
I just voted on a War Powers Resolution to force Trump to end the war in Iran. Republicans blocked it, AGAIN.
This war has already cost $35 billion, money that could be going toward lowering costs and helping families. Republicans chose more spending & pain for working families.
I just voted again to end Donald Trump’s war with Iran.
Unfortunately, my Republican colleagues continue to put their loyalty to this president over the needs of the American people.
The President broke his promise when he dragged the nation into war with Iran. He even threatened genocide against Iran, calling for "the death of a civilization."
As Military City, USA, my hometown understands very well the stakes and costs of war. I won’t vote to send another generation of American women and men from San Antonio or anywhere to fight in another 20 year, trillion dollar war in the Middle East.
Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, confirmed that Israel has different objectives in the war in Iran than the U.S. This is a serious admission. Entering a war alongside an ally with different goals threatens our ability to achieve peace.
This morning, I questioned @DNIGabbard about whether she told President Trump the truth: there was no imminent threat to justify war with Iran.
The American people deserve answers from this Administration about why we are at war.
I will continue to demand them.
The administration is easing sanctions on Russian oil. That means we are providing funds to the Kremlin that could be used to kill Ukrainian soldiers. Ukraine is a US ally. Russia is not.
.@RepCohen to Director Patel: "Why did you fire at least a dozen agents... that specialize in Iran counterintelligence which makes us much less secure and safe with this war going on from Iranian attacks potentially against this country?"
At least 13 US service members have already died in Iran—including Captain Seth Koval, a husband and dad from Indiana. I pressed Trump administration officials to justify this war. When the lives of our brave service members are at risk, the American people deserve answers.
Director of National Intelligence Gabbard couldn’t answer the question on the mind of nearly every American I talk to.
The public is demanding answers and Trump’s top leaders don’t have them.
Rep. @JoaquinCastroTX: "What does the Intelligence Community assess Israel's goals in this war to be?"
@DNIGabbard: "Disabling the Iranian leadership."
Castro: "Do you know whether Israel is supportive of the President's goal to make a deal?"
Gabbard: "I don't know."
Recent reporting claims that days before the US military operation in Iran, the FBI fired a dozen members of its counterterrorism unit tasked with monitoring Iranian threats.
@RepHoulahan asked Director Patel why:
