@sib313 @codingbrown @chrisbiggin @OneLongPlait Our AMU is 63 beds with frequently another 20-30 medical patients in ED so not practical to physically round twice a day, but we do have 1130 and 1630 board rounds with juniors and NIC seven days a week.We also have a near live electronic bed management system linked to take list

@chrisbiggin @sib313 @OneLongPlait @codingbrown By comparison figures for rates of consultant assessment suggest that we see 2-3 times more patients per hour during a morning, junior supported (dare I say shepherded) ward round than during more "free-form" afternoon working.

@chrisbiggin @sib313 @OneLongPlait @codingbrown Data from our AMU suggests a similar 0.7-1.0 range for the number of patients assessed per hour by our juniors. I don't think this is entirely unrelated to flow though as I suspect we are more efficient when seeing patients in a familiar, appropriate environment.
