We talk about THAT and WHY #arctic#seaice breaks, but do you fancy to know HOW? Join us on a little modelling highlight with @Oktopus_76N https://t.co/vc50z9ARMZ
Happy to share our article about intersection angles of LKFs in sea ice! Read what we can learn from them about mechanics in sea ice models. When rheology, LKF, and yield curve are part of your vocabularly, then this is something for you ⏬ @sea_ice_bear @MOSAiCArctic@AWI_Media
PhD alert! Come to work with us on "Polar climate change and mesoscale sea ice and ocean processes". Below is the picture of how sea ice looks like in our 1km resolution Arctic and 3km Southern Ocean simulations. #PhD

Interested in applying to the graduate program in Atmospheric Sciences at UW? Applications due Dec 1st! Read about how to apply: https://t.co/ZDcbBAeGrw and come to our virtual info session and Q&A on Nov 3rd, 930-11AM Pacific time, register: here: https://t.co/sqQpCGLYjP
New @MOSAiCArctic / @NASA_ICESat2 pre-print on sea ice topography at different scales and most importantly - linking them! 🛰️🚁 Some great work lead by @_RobertRicker and @steven_fons! Check it out, it's open for comments.
We are hiring, please distribute! Looking for software engineers to work in python (2 positions) and C/C++ and/or FORTRAN (1 position). You will be part of the team building km-scale coupled model.

Looking for a motivated 'PostDoc in Arctic sea ice observations' based on autonomous measurements (e.g., @MOSAiCArctic buoys) for our team in @arctic_passion at @AWI_Media and @meereisportal. Find details and apply by 11 April: https://t.co/IRtkQs2Rsz
Traumberuf Polarforscherin?
This is Arctic Ocean with eddies as simulated by #FESOM2 ocean model. Come to do your PhD with us to help parameterise effects of those eddies in climate simulations (PhD position)! BTW it's 100% salary.
Deadline 21.02.
Please distribute!

It's been a while since, we started the Sea Ice Rheology Experiment (SIREx) on the FAMOS meeting in 2016: large #seaice model intercomparison project focussing on deformation and fracture. Finally, two papers coming out of this are under review and preprints on @ESSOAr_org 🥳1/5
In SIREx Part II: (Evaluating simulated linear kinematic features in high-resolution sea-ice simulations - https://t.co/vFWE4w6cTD) we detect deformation features, i.e. leads and pressure ridges, and compare spacial and temporal statistics (density, persistence,...) 4/5
