Fascinated by astrocytes, neurons, and the cerebellum. Running a 2P microscopy lab at Marquette. Opinions are my own! Iaroslav 'Alex' Savtchouk, PhD. 🐁🧠🔬
We're excited to invite aps for a postdoc for a NIH-funded project investigating circadian rhythms and cellular plasticity. Join a dynamic team using 2P imaging, opto, pharm, and computational techniques. Apply here: https://t.co/fbcb0GYZ5L #neuroscience
Pls repost, thanks!
A new #ScienceReview looks at both the advances in technology for large-scale neural activity recording over the past decade and recent developments in analytic tools and approaches to make sense of the resulting complex, high-dimensional data.

Congrats to my friend and colleague Guosong Hong for his stunning and original discovery, published today in Science, on clearing tissues *in living animals* with a common food dye!
The dye is tartrazine, used in Doritos!

We discovered a surprisingly easy way to control the brightness of fluorescent proteins via magnetic fields:

This raises fascinating scientific questions about the mechanism, and tantalizing technological opportunities for bioengineering.
New research technician position open in the Evans lab. Gain great experience in a supportive collaborative environment. Apply to join our team. Please retweet. https://t.co/GBjaRSLSrK
@KelsBenton Try PDFtk: https://t.co/vc2Ht4j9st
On Linux (or Windows with WSL) you already have these installed, most likely. Just use the commands:
convert input.pdf[0-8] input.pdf[10-25] outputfile.pdf
pdftk input.pdf cat 1-9 9-end output outputfile.pdf
Fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a faculty position in a great environment (NB: prior link to Switzerland - 2 years of work, study, or citizenship - required)
Start your independent research group in Lausanne! The Department of Fundamental #Neuroscience@unil seeks to sponsor candidates for the @snsf_ch Eccellenza program

@ScottAdamsSays@Elemental_LA_OC Once the mutants overcome Spike-specific immunity, all of their progeny will be also somewhat resistant, and generate more mutants that may become even more resistant, and so on.

@ScottAdamsSays@Elemental_LA_OC ...stopping any virus with a very specific shape of the Spike protein. Any mutations that change the shape/look of Spike will therefore have a better chance than a native virus. So, a vaccine changes the playing rules and makes mutants more favorable.

@TrackingActions@neurobongo "Dr." is missing: it should have been something like Frau[Herr] Prof. Dr. Mathis.
Prior to 2008, German-speaking administrators would omit "Dr." for "lesser" doctorates, including USA-awarded PhDs😁, IIRC.
But in French 🇨🇭, "Madame," is as respectful as "Madame le Professeur"
@mickeykats This should by definition involve either a wavelength-tunable source or a tunable detector.
Given my (very limited) understanding of what you do, it probably involves you explaining a novel way to tune a nanoparticle or nano-hole to a particular wavelength?
