A big severe weather day is possible tomorrow across the Midwest for the second day in a row. Yet again we are talking about severe storms capable of significant wind gusts and tornadoes. Cities like Chicago, Des Moines and Milwaukee need to be on alert for potentially destructive storms.
This is a complicated forecast which hinges heavily on how storms the previous day and the early hours of Thursday behave and evolve. The ceiling for this event includes strong tornadoes and destructive straight-line winds, as well as large hail. The floor for this event is a strong line of storms still capable of significant winds and tornadoes, but much less widespread and powerful. Trends over the next 24 hours will be key.
More gusty storms with tornado potential are also possible across the mid-Atlantic, including cities like NYC, Philadelphia, DC and Pittsburg.

This one ramps up fast in the morning, so don't sleep on it.
Today is likely to feature two separate rounds of severe weather, one mid to late afternoon, and the other in the evening. Thursday's outbreak will mainly be in the evening. Make sure you keep a close eye on the weather the next couple of days. #ILwx
