I'm horrified by the ignorance in the last comment from LACNA. Calling the residents of LA Chinatown "privileged" when they face rising rents, are being shoved out of their homes, on top of facing institutional discrimination against low-income communities of color. #chtown19
Saddened by the results from today's forum, but thank you to @AlexSongCTown and @PresidentP11 for fighting for us on the committee. I will forever believe that our proposal better honors Laura's memory while supporting the community.
I hereby endorse the 1st proposal, as I believe that it's more for systemic change. After all, societal change is built from the ground up. And how better to do that than to educate the individuals who will eventually become part of the community themselves? #chtown19
Thank you @dailyclueoffic1 for endorsing our proposal. Not only a great writer but also an outstanding speaker who articulated LSCEC's mission to advance community engagement in LA. #chtown19
Do we want a proposal that's supported by WallMart to be the use of Laura's foundation money? I'm heartbroken at the prospect of the company that decimated local Chinatown businesses, to create an ephemeral WallMart, to be associatied with Laura's memory and name. #chtown19
BREAKING NEWS : An LAPD investigation finds trace amounts of a deadly toxin in canisters in the back room of Tiger Herb shop. The affected canisters are the secret ingredients in Gold Mountain's famous herbal chicken soup. #chtown19
The Center for the Study of International Migration at Cal U also fully supports the Community Engagement Center with faculty resources and new programs that help connect Cal U students with the immigrant and international community. #chtown19
Proud to announce that La Familia at CalU is fully supporting the Community Engagement Center by offering volunteer labor and hosting fundraisers to ease any sustainability concerns! #chtown19
Legal clinics are a huge pull for potential law students - seems like something Cal U administration would be ready to support both with resources and finances #chtown19
As the Cal U faculty have been working diligently on the proposal with the activists and the international students, we’re looking forward to sharing our plan and ideas with the committee and community this afternoon! #chtown19
Today's the big proposal day!!!! I know Giving Tuesday was yesterday, but that doesn't mean the giving has to stop! Super excited to see how giving these proposals are to the community!!! #chtown19#thanksgiving
Loved meeting with the CalU profs earlier today to talk proposals for the land. Its partnerships like these that remind me of how strong the LA Chinatown community is, excited to work more with these awesome educators!

I'm anticipating Wed. to get heated, but before things get too tense -- here is a happy read concerning our very own CalU! These are the professors I work alongside every day in the AASC. We would do anything for our students!! #CalUorUCLA? #chtown19

Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving break! So excited to finalize proposals on Wednesday with other CalU faculty members and support our students with scholarships & other programs. @ISprofCalu@u_latin@celinewangcalu@ISfacCalu
Happy to see that we have an international student @JuliaLeeMB1 here with us today. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on ways to improve educational experience for international students & immigrants on campus. Thought you might have a unique perspective to offer! #chtown19
@ the open forum -- very powerful hearing everyone speak so positively about Laura + the LA Chinatown immigrant community. Very gratified to hear Laura's uncle @AlexSongCTown emphasize the need for the foundation to focus on immigration rights and Asian American Studies #chtown19
