More great work by @IanMcelree on the importance of bluelight & checking sanctuary sites in post induction HR NMIBC. Esp ๐ when considering multiple rounds of salvage therapy!

New in @EurUrolOncol, including @UIowa_urology authors Dr. Michael A. O'Donnell, Dr. Jordan R. Richards, and @IanMcelree: Investigation of first AI-powered histologic biomarker for patients with untreated high-grade NMIBC: https://t.co/vc07C2Okzr
We are thrilled to share our recent publication in @EurUrolOncol demonstrating for the first time CHAI based predictive biomarker to guide use of intravesical BCG vs alternatives (chemotherapy). In an era of BCG shortage and new alternatives to BCG incoming, precision medicine based tools to guide intravesical treatment choice will enable improved patient care in bladder cancer.
Incredible collaborative effort with bladder cancer experts @VigneshPackiam@pjhensley11@UroDocAsh@saumyg@SWilliams_MD@IanMcelree@YairLotan

Fantastic work by super โญ๏ธ @IanMcelree presenting @UIowa_urology data on restaging procedures for NMIBC. An important step when considering multiple salvage intravesical therapies. Keep an eye out for him in this yearโs match! #NCSAUA24@NCSAUA@VigneshPackiam
Another intravesicular regimen (cabazitaxel+ Gem) by Mike O'Donnell @UIowaCancer with pembro, in refractory HRNMIBC (Doce failure), interesting results, prospective study underway. Honored to be part of this effort.

Such a privilege to continue working with @IanMcelree on use of endoluminal Gem/Doce, now for #UTUC
Takeaways:
๐ก 41 upper tracts - 90% CIS (most had + cytology)
๐ก 2 yr-RFS 54%, 2yr-NephUFS 92%

Continued great work by super ๐ @IanMcelree
Gem/Doce effective in treatment naive (79% 2 year RFS) and previously treated (64%) Intermediate Risk NMIBC
@ryansteinbergmd@JOrzel_MD@BladderCancerUS@SUO_YUO
Can be considered for various disease states

Someday soon enough bcg is not going to be the standard of care #nmibc โฆ alternative therapies are coming . In the meantime Iโll keep sending my napkin results to @VigneshPackiam and our ๐ results .. 40% CR Gem Doce / 40 % CR alternative ๐ฆ .. bcg ๐๐ป #bladdercancer
Gem+Doce is associated with better 2yr high-grade recurrence-free survival (81% vs 69%), less treatment discontinuation (3% vs 9%) vs BCG in patients with nonโmuscle-invasive bladder cancer; may be useful during BCG shortage. @VigneshPackiam@IanMcElree https://t.co/rWtXEz494B
