Ex-CEO National Health Authority (Ayushman Bharat & National Digital Health Mission), Ex-Director General, ADB, Ex-IAS Officer (1983), BTech, MHS, PhD, CFA.
The most incredible experience of my career of ~4 decades comes to an end today. Bidding adieu to @AyushmanNHA as CEO but gaining an entire family. I had the absolute honour of building & implementing #AyushmanBharat & #NDHM. Thank you Hon. PM @narendramodi for the opportunity.
Delighted to take on this role with NCAER’s Centre for Health Economics. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen evidence-based health policy and contribute to a more equitable, efficient and sustainable health system for India.

We welcome Dr. Indu Bhushan (@ibhushan) as Chair of the Advisory Council, Centre for Health Economics. Founding CEO of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY — the world's largest publicly funded health-insurance scheme — and former Director General for East Asia at the Asian Development Bank (@ADB_HQ). #HealthEconomics
Privileged to have presented on lead poisoning challenges in Asia-Pacific & discussed with dept heads, chaired by VP @scottmorris & moderated by Chief Economist @albertpark. Grateful for the chance to tackle this critical issue! #PublicHealth#AsiaPacific@ADB_HQ
We had expected that with TATA taking over @airindia the service would improve. Just the reverse seems to have happened. They lost my luggage in direct flight from Del to Udr! No info about where the luggage is, when it will be delivered. None of the numbers respond! @DGCAIndia
I wonder why Air India treats its clients so shabbily and makes them wait in the airbridge for a long time when the airplane is not ready to board. Shouldn’t they let them wait with dignity in the departure area? @MoCA_India, @airindia@DGCAIndia@PMOIndia
@airindia AI2706 from Kol to Del. Started boarding even when the cabin was not ready to take in the passengers and made them wait in the aero bridge for about 20 min.
Read this insightful blog by Dr. Indu Bhushan and Eduardo Banzon which comes as a timely read during the ILPPW as we reflect on how best to collaborate in this fight against lead poisoning.🌏✨

What is the state of #digitalhealth transformation in #India?
Have a read of this commentary from @adityalearns, @ibhushan & @kevin_schulman focussing on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission - launched in 2021 with a focus on creating a secure, integrated digital health ecosystem ensuring that each citizen’s health data is accessible, interoperable, & under their control.

I am hoping that the Fund will catalyse the needed policy response to this huge but highly under-recognised public health challenge which is compromising my the future of our children.
Delighted that the Lead Exposure Action Fund is now formally launched. I feel incredibly lucky to be working on this important and deeply neglected issue at this particular moment!

Lead poisoning remains a critical yet under-recognized health crisis, often overlooked in policy discussions despite its widespread impact. In my op-ed in Hindustan Times, I shed light on this invisible epidemic. https://t.co/B9flmt0ckp @JPNadda@PahleIndia@UNICEF@USAID
My article in Hindustan Times argues for promoting innovations to improve health outcomes and tunnel through traditional constraints in providing health services. Innovations play a pivotal role in bridging supply gaps, and enhancing quality and efficiency.https://t.co/X7SgRCTvmw
WATCH || Dr Indu Bhushan (@ibhushan), Chair, India Working Group on Lead Poisoning and former head, National Health Authority, Government of India, led the first International Convening on "Lead Poisoning in India: Status, Challenges, and Way Forward." He emphasized the mission to eliminate lead poisoning in India by 2040.
@tapasjournalist
I learned a lot from this excellent discussion w/ @rsilv_dc @GawandeUSAID@ibhushan@ValerieMHickey. I came away with renewed purpose in prioritizing the lead agenda @ADB_HQ, building on fantastic work that @ADBChiefEcon has been doing. Thanks to my friends @CGDev for hosting!
