If you are ever down on motivation, struggling to maintain the will to push forward...
Stop for a second... Take a bit of time to reflect on why you do it and who you do it for.
Don't let "real life" distract you from creating your best life.
The world needs you. <3
Life fucking loves you. Things work out for you. Doors open for you. Money comes to you. Love finds you. People remember you. Opportunities want you. You keep getting lucky in ways that make you laugh because of course it worked out for you again.
Of course it did. It always does. It always has.
Prolly a hot take but at the end of the day, placing at majors & beating top players offline is when you know you're actually good at fighting games!
Y'all gettin' a little too caught up in ranked and online tournies I fear. Great resources for improving! Not the end all be all
@SourPiggy Brother! I've been learning Panda the last month or 2 and let me tell you your play had me super hype! I have much more of an appreciation for the bears in this game now that I can play Panda some (plus I think they are cooler now than they ever have been lol)
You don't have to commit your entire life to optimism, just try it on for a week. Start thinking "what if it all worked out?" and "what a time to be alive!". Then compare your state of mind to the week before filled with pessimism and doomer nonsense.
the most underrated act of kindness is letting people be. let them mispronounce a word, talk too much about a show they love, or get excited about something you don't understand. everyone has something that lights them up. let them shine, even if it's not your thing.
30 years of Super Mario 64 and I genuinely don’t think people who weren’t there can understand just how magical this game felt.
Walking into Peach’s Castle for the first time. Hearing the music. Running down those hallways, finding a painting, and realizing you could literally JUMP INTO IT and enter an entirely different world.
Every door was a mystery. Every painting was a new adventure. Every star felt like you’d discovered something nobody else had.
The first time you flew with the Wing Cap. Racing that stupid penguin down the slide. Swimming through Dire, Dire Docks. Running around Bobomb Battlefield with absolutely no idea what you were supposed to be doing, but somehow having the time of your life.
And the music. God, the music.
There was no YouTube tutorial telling you where to go. No internet spoiling every secret before you found it. Just you, your N64, and an entire new game to be explored.
I think what makes me emotional looking back is realizing we weren’t just experiencing one of the greatest leaps in gaming history. We were experiencing a kind of childhood wonder you can never quite get back. Those mornings sitting on the floor in front of the TV, completely lost in a world that felt so big.
I can still hear the castle music and immediately feel like a kid again.
I fucking love people who become more themselves with age. Stranger taste. Clearer boundaries. Louder laugh. Less interest in impressing random people. Watching somebody slowly stop auditioning for the world is fucking beautiful.
